From UnlockSwitch's twitter:

Unfortunately, we were caught off guard by disruptive behavior and persistent attacks from a small number of individuals.Regrettably, we engaged with these provocations, which compromised the level of professionalism we aim to maintain. We sincerely apologize for our handling of the discussions regarding cryptocurrency payments. Rather than addressing the community’s legitimate concerns, our communication shifted toward social media exchanges, which was not the appropriate response. We recognize the need for improvement and are committed to exercising greater diligence in managing such situations moving forward. With that said, we would now like to shift focus back to the key issues at hand:Over 3000 people took part in the poll about preferred payment options for the upcoming UnlockSwitch sales. We’re excited to announce that the following payment methods will be available: • Credit or debit cards (Visa/Mastercard, etc.) • PayPal • USDT cryptocurrency, which will be optional.Production is already in progress, including PCB manufacturing, case’s, custom cable production, component purchases…Please note that NO sales will occur before the completion of testing and validation with our random external Beta Testers/YouTubers/Reviewer’s —there will be NO pre-orders or early sales.

Any reliable places with CC to buy a dumper and cart for Aussies not Aliexpress as Aliexpresses last mile courier refuses to deliver parcels to any one in Australia and had to argue with Aliexpress for a refund and needed to do a charge back as aliexpress only uses Fast horse Express Australia to cut costs :'(
It’s really not that bad. I’ve had about 10 deliveries with fast horse and apart from the couriers being stupid i still get my parcels.

Depends on how you'll use it.

If you're making full backups of your own games and placing them on MIG Switch, therefore using MIG Switch as intended, you'll be good.

However, if you intend to use publicly available dumps (preferably full, not mixed i.e. XCI and initial data from one game, the other certs from another, donor game), there's a risk that you might get your console banned, especially if there's someone else playing the same game at the same time. I'm not sure if staying offline matters in that case, not sure if telemetry collects data about when and which game you've played. If your console is banned, you'll be able to get game updates: 1) if they are available on the official cart or 2) by matching the version locally with another Switch that has the game on a higher version. DLC, however, will be available only if it's on the cart already or you've legally downloaded it from the eShop before you got banned. Note that, even if your console is banned, you can still and will receive firmware updates.
This is an interesting one. I know people that have been using full online dumps for months with no ban yet. I have a few questions myself about the telemetry. Firstly I wonder how detailed the telemetry was on firmware available before the mig was ever released and if a factory reset would wipe all telemetry.

Lack of trustworthy reports doesn't really help determine whether using full online dumps is safe or not, so I'd say it's better to be on a safe side. Do your own research, check with people you trust and make a decision yourself.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about that. Someone else might be able to help you out. I'd check this thread for more info.

if a factory reset would wipe all telemetry
Unfortunately, it won't wipe telemetry logs because, as far as I know, factory reset clears the USER partition of the sysMMC, not the SYSTEM where telemetry is being stored. But even if you do wipe all the telemetry and connect to the Nintendo servers at some point later on, it would cause a log mismatch and flag you for ban at best. The best case would be if it was possible to check what logs Nintendo has of your console and to erase them up until that point in the past only or block telemetry altogether without blocking anything else (e.g. eShop access, NSO, etc.).

The only way to "clear" the telemetry after you've done some hacking and stuff and not get banned in the process of doing so is to make a clean backup of your sysMMC before you do something you shouldn't usually do, including risky stuff like online dumps for the MIG Switch and alike, and restore it only if you've never connected to the Nintendo servers afterwards (stayed offline, used 90DNS or DNS MITM). Unfortunately, if you don't have a modded Switch, you can't do it unless you mod your Switch first, therefore using risky dumps on a MIG Switch on an unmodded Switch is something I wouldn't recommend unless you don't mind getting your console banned or it's already banned. Or modded, but then again why do you need a MIG Switch on a modded console? Only if you'd like to play your own backups online on stock firmware, while leaving all the hacking stuff to the emuMMC, I guess.

MIG Switch is 2nd best thing for piracy on all but unpatched Switches (ipatched, v2s, Lites and OLEDs), modchip being the first of course. Having a modded Switch as well makes updating games somewhat easier (matching the versions locally).

So far I only use it on an Emunand and I only backed up the games that I legally own
Since you're on emuNAND, why are you even using MIG Switch instead of installing game backups directly to your SD card (not the SD card inside the MIG Switch)? I mean, you can use your MIG Switch that way, but since you're on emuNAND why bother? Just curious, that's all. Are you switching games between multiple consoles, hacked ones at that?

@UnlockSwitch

As we near the launch of production for the UnlockSwitch and the Xtractor , all development and internal testing are now complete. The only step left is external validation from our beta testers, YouTubers, and reviewers, which is the final phase before the products go to market. That’s coming soon ;)The most anticipated part, which everyone has been asking about in the comments, is the software. We’ll be sharing a detailed announcement about how our software and firmware work in the next few days! How about a live video for the launch?

Well Aliexpress closed down my account as I requested a different courier :'(

Hopefully it will have a better interface than the mig switch which is okay but toggling between saves using a button isn’t ideal
I wouldn’t hold your breath. Technically UnlockSwitch was the first backup solution to have the button in the first place. Maybe the WiFi one will change that but that’s not launching soon.

I don’t think that’s possible, they don’t actually have control over the courier. The courier is chosen by the company that receives all the parcels in Australia for processing. They usually choose the cheapest courier which seems to be fast horse lately. My most recent delivery was a different company. Also why would they close your account because you asked a question? That makes no sense.

I know right CBF opening a different account if they cant guaranty the goods as well if that's going to be their attitude

You make very valid points. I just received my migswitch from aliexpress and whilst i was super excited when i ordered it, i haven't even looked at it now that I have it - i'm having second thoughts. The only thing about a ban that bothers me is not being able to update games. I don't care about online play because it's not a feature I use. The obvious solution is a modchip which I can easily install but it is yet another cfw ecosystem i have to learn about and the effort required puts me off. I also dont want to have to make permanent modifications like cutting up the heatshield but that's a much smaller issue. Part of me want's to try the migswitch to see if i can avoid a ban but it's risky.

I still don't even get what the features of the unlock switch are? They seem to be so close to selling them yet theres almost no information.

If you have a modded Switch around, you can install the up-to-date version of the game on a modded Switch in order to update the game you have on your MIG Switch on another Switch by matching the version locally.

If you're familiar with how modding the unpatched Switch goes, it's not really that much different except for a few things.

I also dont want to have to make permanent modifications like cutting up the heatshield but that's a much smaller issue.
Same. Just so you know there are replacement metal shields on AliExpress for all Switch models so you can cut that one instead but leave the original untouched. I doubt there's much you can do about CPU cover, though, as you have to bend those latches it has. Quality of modchips is what worries me the most and how durable they are and whether or not they'll damage the Switch in the future. Another thing is that I can't really find anyone to install modchips into my patched Switches I've purchased over the years. I'd like to do it myself but I'll have to postpone it until I get better at soldering.

Part of me want's to try the migswitch to see if i can avoid a ban but it's risky.
Thanfully, I have a couple of modded Switches so even any of my Switches get banned, i can still update games to the latest versions with not that much of a trouble. It's a problem for now if a patched Switch and MIG Switch is all you have on your hands.

I still don't even get what the features of the unlock switch are? They seem to be so close to selling them yet theres almost no information.
Cheaper alternative to the MIG Switch and a few more parts is all I see. :D I really hope it turns out to be a good thing and viable product in the end. If not, I'll look for a MIG Switch (or MIG Flash, as they call themselves nowadays) v2 with the button. Dumper I don't really need as I have a modded Switch.

It was originally introduced as a cheaper version of the MiG with a button to change games. They took so long that MiG added the button and here we are.

I am like Saint Thomas: I need to see to believe!

Software / Firmwares - Overview and Legal Considerations:

Upon entering the Switch scene, we opted for an open-source solution, ensuring that our product complies with legal standards, unlike other options currently available. Our focus is on enabling users to create personal backups of their original games, but we do not condone or support illegal downloads from the internet.

Open Source:

Unlike “Flashcard” solutions on the market, our UnlockSwitch is not preloaded with illegal files. It comes equipped with its own proprietary programmer and programming software. Additionally, our hardware components are pre-configured to support custom firmware installations.

What does ‘pre-configured components’ mean?

Our devices contain only the essential components, with the two primary chips (ice40/esp32) engineered for seamless communication, ensuring smooth and efficient integration of custom firmware.

Firmware:

We provide a default test firmware intended to validate the communication between the programmer, the UnlockSwitch , and the Xtractor . Its main function is to ensure proper hardware assembly and verify that all components are interacting as expected. This firmware also allows you to confirm that your UnlockSwitch is equipped with our proprietary, pre-flashed, secure bootloader, ready to accept additional custom firmware for any current or future requirements. The system supports seamless updates or upgrades through the included programmer in every kit (UnlockSwitch Solo and PBS). All third-party firmware developed externally to our engineering team will be subject to comprehensive validation procedures. Updates and relevant details will be communicated exclusively through our official Twitter account. Please note, no firmware downloads will be hosted or made accessible via our website or Twitter account.

Testing and Validation:

Firmware flashing tests and demonstrations, aimed at validating backup execution, will be prioritized for our beta testers. They will rigorously assess the system’s functionality, ensuring optimal performance. Once validated, their approval will confirm the product’s readiness for the final stage before mass production and release.

What exactly does beta tester validation mean?

The validation process involves receiving the following from our team:

• Priority access to the programming software

• Remote updates to their received samples using our proprietary software

• Flashing of external firmware that enables backups to run on the UnlockSwitch .

Pre-order / Order:

Please be aware that no sales will take place until testing and validation with our external beta testers is fully completed. There will be no pre-orders or early sales.

We are moving forward with mass production and will share updates on every stage of the production process here.

The launch date and available stock for shipment will be announced on Twitter and our website. As of now, no exact date has been confirmed.

Additional Information:

Our products will only be available through our official website : UnlockSwitch.com

Any other websites or online stores claiming to represent our brand should be considered fake. We will not be distributing products via emails, platforms like Alibaba, Taobao, or TikTok stores.

Please stay vigilant against any fraudulent activities during our launch.

We have created a dedicated section on our website where we will list any sites or resellers that attempt to harm our brand’s image.
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing new here 🤣
