It seems like they sent a few samples out to a few folks with blogs/youtube channels (before they sent the 30 out to random twitter followers), so expect to see some reviews and videos of UnlockSwitch popping up soon.

Hopefully real units and not clones like last time

That being said the few pictures I saw they seemed like MIG X clones. Someone showed and complained about the tiny button like someone else in this thread stating they needed to use their fingernail

Would anyone even use this shell or am I wasting my time? Aha

It’s at least still more original(and real) than anything UnlockSwitch has shown so far lol

Finally an excuse to use some chunky screws to
Unrelated to this, but twitter showed me another of your posts showing Fluidd running on a Switch. How did you manage that? I don't have a 3D printer, but I do have a friend who is in to that and also owns a V1 Switch which I have tried unsuccesfully for years to get him to hack. Figured if this is simple enough to install I might be able to persuade him.

All fluidd needs is a form of Linux and a way to connect to your usb devices

So he can set up mainsail or fluid easy enough with switch Linux and than a usb c hub or adapter to plug his printer in. From there it should just be a matter of configuring Klipper to talk to the right serial port (you can find this from terminal)

Mine is more just a wireless tablet since I have my printers either running off a Pi of their own or a BTT Pad7. So I use the switch to swap between and control the different instances

No one tested modifying this file yet but it's easy. Open it up in a hex editor. The version is at the end. The index is at the start.

Okay, i have a trial i am testing out. I have a CFW Emummc that im using to play my offline switch games (EG: Captain Toad, Danganronpa, Mario Odessey, etc.)
and I have a 2nd switch running completley stock hardware and software. without actually opening the game on the OFW switch i can tell the game to update and then match that update with local users as it bypasses nintendo servers to send that update to my CFW switch. I will let you know if either switch gets banned from this

Unboxing/overview of the hardware here. Note there's no review of the product since it ships without firmware. In other words don't click on this video expecting to see the product in action.

It does beg the question though why the reviewer didn't simply install the list Mig software - isn't that what folks are supposed to do? Or have UnlockSwitch said they will release their own firmware?

If they have different chips, then the migswitch firmware shouldn't work no?

Doesn't it use a separate programmer anyways, not just placing the firmware on the SD card like Mig.

Not sure, I just thought when they first started talking about how the product would ship without any firmware they were inferring it would be up to users what they installed on the new, cheaper alternative to Mig. Probably an incorrect assumption on my part.

They will eventually ship with or without programmer, so if you buy without programmer presumably placing the software on the MicroSD is the means of loading software and updating it too.
