he doesn't need the dongle although it shouldn't break/be defective right away but if it is they should replace it if it doesn't charge right away. Also maybe you are using the wrong adopter when doing so like a wrong wall one. Try plugging it in a pc/laptop for a few seconds. if it still doesn't charge tell them it doesn't charge. In the mean time, you have to download the payloader from their site and boot it like other SX people have who haven't bought the pro. put the systom in rcm mode and with the said program (like example on windows its TegraRcmGUI) click inject and the system will boot the sx menu then pick cfw or FW. Once the system is on and tells you the battery life, you should charge it asap. or better yet, when in sx menu, unplug it from usb and plug it in right away then boot into the system (cfw or fw).

6 hours... The dongle doesn't even have a battery it uses capacitors and they don't take nearly as long to charge.
(the) Switch, if it's drained, you'll need to charge it for a few hours (my friend said he charged for 6 hours).

Subject: Switch.

When GBATemp functions as better tech support than the company who made their own product.
they do offer support, but when users lack the sense to charge their consoles or dongle first..... have they to advise them how to wipe their arses too?

everyone seems to be claiming their system is bricked, but all forget what recovery mode means, its not exactly rocket science, if console is not turning on then charge it, insert dongle because regardless if the console was in rcm or turned off, the second you put it on charge the console turns on and will sit in rcm mode waiting for the dongle.

after having it on charge for a period of time, insert the dongle and TA DA it will boot to sx.

So funny story. 2 days ago I had turned off my Switch to put some new games on the MicroSD card and having put AutoRCM on it previously, but never had actually used it, I'm not able to boot up my Switch after I'm done. I"m like, fuck. So I google some info from GBATemp about dead battery and AutoRCM and I'm like, shit, might need to buy some stuff.

Then I got thinking and realized my batter can't be dead, it's been like 30 mins unplugged (full battery) and that most likely my SX Pro didn't have a charge. Found a usb cable that works for it, plugged it in for 3 secs, then took it out and booted up my SX OS.

I then removed AutoRCM because I don't like it's hassle.

Great story huh?

I’ve been using SX Pro on my switch for a few weeks now, never enabled AutoRCM, just use sleep mode as switch is docked 99% of the time. Never had a battery issue. Only have to use the jig and dongle if I need to remove the sd card for some reason. Eveything works perfectly for me.

I really don’t see the need for AutoRCM, if you are scared of damaging the rail with the jig, just be careful with it!! :)

I've been using the SX Pro since day 1 (June 18) and have had auto rcm installed since that day. Turned off the console several dozen times at least for new xci and homebrew files as well as save transferring and editing. I have so far never had a single booting issue, no battery issues, no charging issues, no "bricking" issues or issues of any kind. SX OS boots every time like a charm, super fast, easy, and reliable... but guess what... I also keep my dongle and switch fairly well charged. All people have to do is keep stuff charged, and don't press the power accidentally in autorcm so it dies. Even then... simply charge and done.

Anywho, TLDR; SX Pro has worked flawlessly with absolutely no issues. Just keep charged.

In Fairness TX should have this stated on it site /product but do not , this is what is leading to bad user errors and high count of the same. Someone should create a mandatory video to direct everyone too when they come in with the "My switch wont boot" shit.

User error is the same as admin error RTFM .- But then TX don't mention this Behavior anywhere .

I honestly laugh out loud when people say that SX OS or SX Pro are good options. Hey, if you want to burn your money on trash... suit yourself.

Atmosphere is going to be so freaking good.

People burn their money on the Switch and videogames anyway, AFAIK the luxury of burning your money is part of the "freedom" promised by the western world, isn't it? It's a free world!

PS: And by no means I am endorsing nor rejecting the unfounded notion that atmosphere will be good at all.
