Gaming the next zelda

Two instant day-one buy for me would be: Majora's Mask 3D (hoping in some little extra thrown in to attract who thinks that the 3-day gameplay and overall content is annoying and not worthy of a full retail price) and a NEW, -real- old-school Zelda that I amexpecting: bird view gameplay, hand-drawn sprites and whatnot. I am hungry for a smart spin a-la 3D Land and I want it as soon as possible. Have I already said I am expecting it?
"I'll give you one hint, but maybe you won't understand it. It will be a game in which having 3D will mean something." (Aonuma); "We would like to create more new titles. For example, this year we are making Super Mario 3D, but it's not really a remake of Galaxy. Link to the Past could be one of them. I think it would be good to see that world with a layered 3D effect." (Miyamoto)
This is what I am thinking about.

But it would be nice to use the stylus to aim the bow (seriously OoT3D should have had this.)
Eh, not so sure about that. Aiming with just your finger wouldn't work that great (as we know), and it would be a pain to take the stylus out just for one action (especially if you're in the middle of a battle). I liked the gyro controls, personally.

Anyway, I would really like the see a sequel to Majora's Mask. Like, not just another Zelda that takes place between MM and Twilight Princess, but a TRUE Majora's Mask sequel set in Termina, or maybe even set in both Termina AND Hyrule (not sure how that would work though). Now THAT would be cool!

Don't get me wrong, I liked gyro also (in fact its all I used. I only used stick aimming on my bus home) but I also used my bow more often then my sword (I liked taking down enemies before I had to deal with them up close.) and many times the stick aim was too slow and gyro was too inaccurate and I just wished I could have used my stylus at those points. Just as a option like gyro and stick was. Its not something that HAS to be used.

I suppose.

Oh yeah, also another game with a young Link would be interesting. After 2 "main" releases in a row with an older Link (Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword), it would be nice to see young Link again. And idk, young Link grew on me for some reason... I guess it kinda dawned on me that I think it's way more amazing and badass to have a ten year old save the world than an older guy (finale of Wind Waker, anyone?).

Nobody else wants Steampunk Zelda :c
To an extent, I always saw Zelda as being steampunk/cyberpunk in a lot of ways, though I don't think it ever became really obvious until later (there was a slight "clockpunk" feel to Majora's Mask, and the true steampunk feel got more and more obvious with future games, especially Twilight Princess)

How was TP steampunk? It got the dark moody part right but nothing really victorian was there (the skycity maybe... other then that its your run of the mill-medivial withba few Nintendo brand twists.)

Yeah, but even some of the weapons reflected a steampunk style (spinning top anyone?). But like you said, there was at least SOME steampunk in it... I just don't want them to go over the top

Ooohh I forgot about that top. The desert prison also had a steampunkish feel to it. But I just want to see a zelda game with classic steampunk stuff, they don't have to go crazy with it. Just make more weapons, items and places have that feel to it (hell, put link in a green vest.) I really think it would suit the game well if tuey pulled it off right. Steampunk doesn't get as much use in games as it deserves, in media in general its pretty neglected. Its definitely better then another fucking sci-fi/cyberpunk game.
