If you guys r talkin about GTA Chinatown Wars.
You should try to patch the arm7 so it'll get passed the start where it normally says Can't find save file.
Then run the rom on no$gba and make a starter save file.
Then convert the no$gba save file at http://shunyweb.info/convert.php to your flash cart.
Idk if it'll work cuz my comp sucks to much to run the emu =] but it's worth a try.

oki...so I was in this site,rom downloads place...and it says that this save file,by converting it to the cart's file format(savegame converter: HERE ) makes it run properly on R4/firecard ,but they haven't confirmed this yet...anyone care to test it out?I dun have R4 so CLICKY ain't ROM btw,just sav file

We are unable to play GTA is because of save/load issue! so we have to wait for firmware update from the flash card team

thats not proven i thnk people have said the save file is 1mb well me save file on my cyclo is 1mb and still no luck so perhaps its a piracy check thats save file related but not directly associated

This is what i did: download the save file http://www.romulation.net/files/3517%20-%2...Xenophobia).SAV
Convert the save file http://shunyweb.info/convert.php (source put R4. Target put your flashcart)

which is exactly teh one one my post in the last page...so anyone care to try it some more?

Anyways, I got no response to this:

you can use r4cce to change the activators yourself

change to any combination of your choice

(If this sounds sarcastic, it's not.) Why would I change the activators? I don't see why a Y button cheat would make the backlight control stop working. What would I change the activator to?

Also, the first post says that YSMenu is recommended for compatibility, but the backlight control doesn't even work on mine. Is this true for all YSMenus or is something wrong with mine?

I don't balme you...you'll see people coming in here almost everyday askign why the cheats won't show up on R4...I'm telling you people rarely sees Important Notice (sand size) in the cheats download page...why couldn't they just make the words bigger..extra big or extra extra big (more bigger than the GTA Chinatown warning at the front page!) I mean how hard is that, Narin????? there are tons of free space on the cheats download page

i think most of the newcomers would not bother to read the first post (NOT ALL)~!
unless we have some sort of Q&A mechanism installed! everyone who wish to post, they have to answer a series of question.

i do agree, people would miss it unless they need it !! i used to put that on my signature, still people asking the same question

elixirdream, many people just came here to download the cheats file, they won't bother reading the first post or anyone's signature... that's why I ask Narin to make the fonts REALLY HUGE Important Notice so people could see it the moment they enter the cheats download page.

I suggest that the big red To R4DS Users be put under the download link, just above the final note. This way the final note is more final and the people that get to the download link will more likely see the note. There's also the cheats.gbatemp.net page though... the "Important Notice" should be more noticeable and say R4 in there somewhere.

what i was told that r4 + r4 firmware works well with backlight code
and
not all flash card + firmware would work with the backlight code

maybe someone out there can answer you

A simple bypass for gta, stop it from reading saves at all? Of course this would stop the game from saving... but would it at least work?

ahh but this would allow us to use RTS and play the game and just save with rts please someone implement this on the double
