I guess it's the different button combo each sample...

Oh right! It would be great if the image wasn't as low-res, didn't think I'd have to zoom

Upon further inspection, the 3DS remake is actually the odd one out for rotating all inputs for some reason, the Switch 2 remake has the same face button directions as they are on C-pad.

Also, I just found out, it looks like there are even more notes to play than just the 5 made apparent in regular gameplay:

In fact, the Switch 2 remake's note viewer appears to be the most accurate one so far. Both of the previous games have it dumbed down to 4 lines. (Excuse my music theory ignorance, I'm sure there are proper terms for this!)

I wouldn't be surprised if this is already common knowledge following countless video analysis on the footage shown on the Direct, but this was a fun rabbit-hole to briefly dive into
