Nintendo will possibly also release Mewtwo as a payable DLC character but if not then it's limited to those who bought the 3DS + Wii U versions.

I believe the manufacturer is Chinese, so there's almost certainly a way to get the adapter in China. As for who sells it there, I couldn't answer.

Like I said, play asia is estimated to arrive by late feb to early march. I don't want to wait that long.... Is there a way to cancel an order if I order from them but then find another adapter elsewhere that will ship sooner?

I bought mine on playasia the 6th, and they sent it yesterday (14th), so I hope you didn't cancel your order. Plus it's written on their page they will have more stock on "2015-01-30".

Yeah, I bought mine on play-asia as well. I got an email saying mine will be shipped on the 14th (today) but it still hasn't shipped yet..

Unless you have the newer Wii it already has GC ports.

I have the one without GC ports, that's why I was asking if this worked with the Wii. Do you know if it works for the Wii or it's WiiU only?

Well, Guess what? It should work in both Wii U and Wii! I made it work with one with GC ports anyway, so, as long as you use nintendont with the correct controller.ini, it should work! just be prepared to make all your games ISO files and swap them in various SD Cards!!! (the wii only has 2 USB after all. but I don't know if Nintendont works with SD with more than 2GBs)

My understanding is the 2nd USB on the adapter is just for power so you should be able to power it with any USB wall charger leaving the other Wii port free for HDD. Unless a HDD the GC adapter need to use the same port on the Wii.

On the Wii U one of the cables from the adapter is for the rumble feature so if you're okay without it, then you'll have a spare USB port. After a while you don't even miss the rumble feature any more.
