Ultima is hard ! you need to gambit lyud and penelo to revive party
you need some lvl2 espers too (make some free batlle you ll gain auracite), ultima is a non elemental flying esper, so choose an any ranged esper

when fighting ultima try to not put penelo in front of him, his blast could kill her, a good heal party and here we go !
For me, he has just touch me once with his laser beam attack, i kill him during charging his second attack

my strategy was kill bomber front of you first ) then go right and take the summon altar, wait here a little, kill all incomming monster, and ulima will come all by himself

, he will pass by the little up right path ! so like this you know how his Beam should strike, so put healer aside

*maybe spoil a little*
BTW : this game is good, but very easy until chapter 10....! this chapter is VERY VERY VERYYYYY HARD !!!!! you need to xp a lot for last mission and if you courageous enough to beat all tomaj mission (like me ...) the last battle is a battle for LVL99 !!!!!! WTF !

Couldn't agree more! I found the beginning to extremely easy were I wasn't even trying. As soon as the end neared the difficulty increased so much that I just felt severly underleveled. That's my one gripe about this game is that there was no middle part that slowly trained you. I think throughout the whole game I only trained once (for the Mydia battle) and that was it. Besides completling missions, I did no extra battles, so now I have to do a ton of extra battles. I'd rather have done those extra battles little by little instead of all at once.

I'm at 54% game, in chapter 7-2, with my people around level 30, and I believe I did all Tomaj missions, is there anything I should do?

and would you answer my two other questions please?

three questions:

1) How did you beat Ultima? I beated her with a strategy I dont like that much and I was on last minute, whats the better strategy?

2) How you acquire those flowers on stage which their icon is a small apple on map screen? what are they?

3) How to control Esper summonations? When I put 1 level one and one level 2, I'll have tons of useless level one and just 2 of level two espers.

for question 2 ... i think you speak about fruit that can heal you, this is not very usefull (i use it once for the mission you only control vaan for infiltrate a temple)
if it s for specific mission (like those from penelo) you just have to select someone and clik the tree or plant, and you gain the quest based object.... that s all

for the 3....you need to gain auracite, esper lvl 1 cost 1 auracite, lvl2 2 auracite and lvl3 (real espers) 3 auracite). some lvl3 espers need to be unlock before pacting like ultima, you need to complete some tomaj quest for that. if you don t have enough auracite make some free battle, but it s not very necessary :at the end of the game i ve unlock all espers !! and still have more than 30 auracite .....

you don t need to lvl up until the last chapter for two reason :
- until chap 9, tomaj mission and quest are easy
- last free battle give a lot of XP

you can of course make some lvling when you get a failed mission, but it s not vital, a good strategy and all mission can be completed
