Gaming The BIG TF2 Thread

your inventory says it dirty http://steamcommunit...ngel/inventory/
uncraftable means dirty, it goes for half its value or less if its an unwanted hat
Oh shit, I didn't know that :( Sad but not that bad I guess, still made some profit. Thanks for explaining that to me :)
Also, I traded a Respectless Rubber Glove (clean I think) for a Strange Part Headshot Kills. That's probably my best trade of the past 3 days :P

First it was the Cheater's Lament (halo hat), then it was Bronies, then it was F2P players.

Server admins will always find a way to discriminate against a group of people and find a reason to kick them. It gives them something to do when people aren't doing anything to be kicked for :)

okay so i played crimecraft gang wars to get the bolt action blitzer (new TF2 item) and i have it now
but it says the item is not tradable! why the fuck did i play that game then, i want to be able to trade it/sell it! will it ever go normal?
Because you need to buy the premium version of TF2.
That doesn't matter I think, I am in the same situation and it's not tradable here too. A bit sad actually, also was looking to trade it for some sweet TF2 stuff.
thanks you 2 :O
also i'm really getting into TF2 again and i'm quite sad to see there isn't a big booming topic on here already. maybe we could change this topic the 'Big TF2 topic' or so? i've searched and didn't find a topic like this, and especially not with this much replies.....

I'm wondering, what does C/O and B/O mean? I see it all the time on trade servers, but wtf is it? Any site where all those things are explained?

C/O = current offer
the highest offer so far that someone has offered for your item, the next person who want it has to beat that offer

B/O = buy out
this is the instant trade if someone is willing to pay what you set your B/O as (usually really high value item like earbuds, keys ect...), however no on really pays B/O, traders will hold out as long as possible to get the C/O as close to the B/O as possible which is rather annoying

You know what, that's actually quite a good idea! I'll contact a mod, see if it's possible/acceptable.
I'm also in the same situation as you, and would like to find some more TF2 players on the 'Temp :)

Thanks so much. I've added you on Steam btw, hope you don't mind. Maybe we can trade some time ;)

While the game itself is still quite good with it being free to play you can see the age has gone down drastically and really the crowd of people playing it is a lot worse than it used to be.

Same can bee said for any FPS game really. You just gotta find a good server.
Try and avoid Valve, LotusClan, and Pro-TF2 (name is VERY misleading) servers as those are generally filled with the New players (Kids).

Also, those noobs are one of my main sources of 'income' at the moment on TF2 ;)

I play on those servers D:
you just need to find the actual pro members which usually hang out on coldfront and not all the other F2P people who just join
I myself pretty much restrict my self to payload maps

I know but just stating something I experienced after the game went free.
I also want to avoid the term noob on this as its really just underaged children playing that causes the problem.

Okay, I'm losing my motivation a bit considering TF2 trading. It's all going way too slow at the moment, everyday I spend hours online searching for good deals, promoting my own trades (mainly on TF2 Outpost at the moment), but I almost never make a profit there.
In-game I find the occasional nutbag, and make some nice profits, maybe even a REF profit or so, but I'm nowhere near the real profits.....
Can anyone guide me, what to do, and maybe give me other communities where I can trade stuff? Because on TF2 Outpost they all know the prices and it's almost impossible to make a decent profit.....

I also read that the Strange Knife (I was offering it for 2 REF on TF2 O) 'won't rise because the crate which it can be unboxed from can still be found, so it isnt worth 2 ref, maybe in a few months it will be, but not now'.
Is that true? When will those crates be unfindable?
And which weapons are closer, sooner, to be unfindable?

knife pretty much goes for 1 ref now, you can think that to valve re-releasing in a new crate
I do not see the valve going up for a long time

but if you want my advice buys keys and lots of them, then go on an unboxing spree trying to get unusuals, then sell them off for cash/ or promos then sell those for cash, most people dont like doing this because its just gambling, I just saw over the weekend on an unusual server unbox 350 crates and only get a cancer unusual
you usually make your money back and make a nice little profit assuming you dont get cancer unusuals

another thing is doing favors for people (using their sign up like for drop box, league of legends referrals, ect...) they usually pay well

beta's, beta keys or tradable copies, you can make a nice profit trading them to people, and all you have to do is keep an eye out and sign up for it when they start, like I sold Counter Strike Global Offensive beta for earbuds + 4 keys

new items, take advantage of new item hype and sell them quick for a nice profit, dont sit around with it thinking they will go up, people will pay big to be some of the first people to have them, this includes new stranges, hats, misc items, and even weapons

get a few accounts, upgrade them to premium and run an idle script on them, you will get at least 8 drops a week and sometimes hats, or other high value items, trade everything back to your main and scrap whatever low tier weapons and sell off anything valuable

look around spuf for good deals, things you can make a profit on
for example: http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2668661
basically I traded 0.33 ref for 3.33-4 ref

crafting hats, rebuilding items
turn that 3 ref or 2 unwanted hats into a new hat, gambling, you might get a bad hat, or a wanted hat or misc
see those 3 hatless hats mentioned above? I crated 2 of them and get the texas half-pants http://steamcommunity.com/id/xJoe88x/screenshot/540673906620512887 worth over 6 keys right now (very lucky craft) sold the other hat for 1.33 ref
so in total within 1 hour I made almost 7 keys (keys @ 2.55 ref each) in profit for a 1 rec investment (and a 1.11 ref gamble on the hat crafting)

thats how you make profit :mthr:

Joe88, you just got incredibly lucky (like you say yourself), but you made your point. I may look into that crafting process soon too :)
I'll also look into that idling thingy from TF2, sounds interesting.

Thanks a lot for the comprehensive post!

im continuing that trade
selling the texas half-pants back to that guy I got the hatless hats from, and getting a dirty spine chilling skull 2010 (painted muskelmannbraun) and a dirty voodoo juiu (painted pink as hell)
worth about 4+ keys each, so I made about another 2-3 keys in profit

also I saw a guy on spuf selling halloween costume pieces for a scrap each, some that that guy wanted above
so I payed 2 scrap for a few items and gonna trade them both for a horrific headsplitter, another 1+ ref profit

but I still considered my luckiest event was when salvaged crate #40 dropped on my idle account 1 day after it was released
sold it for 18 keys in items (bmoc + bill hat (painted team spirt) + 3 keys)
at the time BMOC was 6 keys, now it hovering around 10-12 keys
im gonna hold onto it and sell it when xmas comes around, high demand for a santa hat, I may get earbuds for it...

lucky bitch!

about those idling accounts, how and where do you run them?

on my computer with a batch script, low resource mode, I just run one account at a time, but there are programs out there to run 10 accounts at once using virtual machines or sand boxie

I've just started doing the same thing, with only 1 account. Hopefully something useful comes out of it :P
I'll probably figure something out this summer to do it with about 4 accounts at the same time, I've got a pretty good PC for such shit. Hopefully I can figure it out, Sandboxie looks hard to learn :/
