Game Name: One Piece Dai Kaizoku Colosseum
Developer: Arc System Works
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Release: September 21, 2016
Genre: Action/fighting

Does it have lots of text?
the game has a story mode and you need to complete it to unlock characters. There is a decent amount of texts
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
The game came out 8 years ago and there's a bigger chance a new one piece fighter game will be created before this one comes out in the west
What is it about?
A fighting game about the anime "One Piece". There is a story mode i would love to talk about but there isn't alot of people talking about this game, and I dont speak japanese

Why I think it needs to be translated?
Since there is a story mode is required to complete the roaster I would like to know what is happening or what i need to do. I tried playing it like it was but sometime you get a question with 3 answer , i randomly pick it but i get it like 1/10 of the time.
What I can do to help
I could help editing the files of the game and editing the images for the menu.

Yeah, way too much.
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
The 3ds is dead and no one in the us cares about AKB48...
What is it about?
A Mii joins a band in a lovable girls game with never before seen Mii hairstyles and clothing. A well done story, and RIDICULOUSLY CUTE miis, songs, and outfits!

this playlist!
Why I think it needs to be translated?
I'm sick of playing it with my best friend over my shoulder translating everything for me, and I'm already dyslexic, so learning to read a new language is NOT in the cards for me. Plus, the new assets would be super good for Tomodachi Life modders!
What I can do to help:

Sadly, I don't think I can. Can possibly supply the Rom if I can find it.

Developer/Publisher: Nippon Columbia
Release: 22 Mar 2012
Genre: Visual Novel, dress up

Does it have lots of text?
Yes, but it's all in Hiragana, which I've heard is pretty easy to translate!
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
It's been years. The game is nearly lost media
What is it about?
You play as a normal girl who befriends a girl named Himeko and her drag queen boyfriend Seiichi, who give her a makeover. I don't understand much of it because I don't know much Japanese. I'm playing it untranslated to practice my Japanese, but I'd love to understand the story better.
Popularity in Japan:
Nearly unknown. In danger of becoming lost media.
Screenshots:
IMG_2109.png

Videos:
Sadly none.
Why I think it needs to be translated?
It's adorable, we need more cozy shoujo tie-in games, I adore the art style, it would be great for edits and other y2k aesthetic stuff, and it's really fun and understandable even without any Japanese knowledge, but it'd be even more fun if you could understand the story, as it's a visual novel. But, one important thing. This game is in danger of becoming lost media. One of the only legal ways to get it only has 2 cartridges left. I think it would help motivate people to preserve it if it were translated!
What I can do to help:
I have a rom and some Japanese speaking friends!

Release: 2014
Genre: VN/Rhythm Game/Idol Management

SoniPro.png

Does it have lots of text?
Sort of, but for a visual novel it's very light. There's also this post of someone detailing how easy the Translation process would be > POST

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
It's hard to imagine this game being even ported to pc, supposing NitroPlus were to decide to do a PC PORT release and also translate it, it would make a lot more sense it was one from the PS3.

What is it about?
Well the game isnt that deep, its a idol management game where you help your idol take photos, manage her life with her sleep schedule and all that usual stuff to help her become a better idol, with the a rhythm game inbetween. it offers fan service if you like that.

Popularity in Japan:
The character/IP sits between niche and popular even in Japan, but It's got its following in all sides of the world (twitter account of the character)

Why I think it needs to be translated?
I just think it's neat, it's visually appealing with its graphics of the time, and is a game that is fun enough on its own, the game doesn't particularly stand out with its rhythm game or story, they are alright enough but when I play the game even when I don't understand anything, it really feels like its more than a sum of its parts. In short: its just a cute and cool vibe

Honestly, years ago when I found out about this game I got very excited, Super Sonico in the 3DS? Amazing, but got pretty sad after I found out it never made it outside of Japan. As time went by, I just forgot about it until I got a New 3DS and decided to homebrew to play it as I travel, then suddenly I rediscovered by looking at game galleries.
Then I saw this thread and I thought. Maybe there's someone else who would like to see this game translated.

What I can do to help:
I can't do much, since I keep traveling for work and studying in free time and don't even pc or laptop. My best contribution would be making this post in hopes people with time might do it. Sorry for that

Thanks for reading

For me I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but there's another reason for the the future card buddyfight games to be translated. Bushiroad gave up on it. They discontinued future card buddyfight as a franchise. No more cards and no more anime. So sadly pig's will fly before the games are translated officially. Which is a shame I personally liked buddyfight because unlike some other card games they card fighters actually did fight themselves (in the anime obviously). Which I haven't seen in any other card game.

Game Name: Culdcept
Developer/Publisher: Omiya Soft/Nintendo
Release: 28 June 2012
Genre: Turn-based strategy

Does it have lots of text?
Yes, mostly in menus and card descriptions. There is also story and flavor text between characters that is not mandatory to understand to play the game, but would be nice to have since it's not excessive compared to a traditional JRPG. It consists mostly of a few repeated phrases per battle.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West
Self-explanatory at this point.

What is it about?
Culdcept for 3DS is a redo of Culdcept for Sega Saturn, with the balancing of Culdcept Second and beautiful 3D sprite graphics. Due to the work done on Culdcept DS, many of the cards have likely been translated already. The goal here would be putting all that together into a playable package, and then maybe later doing the character touches.

For those who have never played this series, it's a brutally tough but fun take on card-based board games, kind of like if you could somehow combine Monopoly and classic Yu-Gi-Oh. While North America 3DS received Culdcept Revolt on the eShop (a later game in the series, and not nearly as good), we never got a translation for this release.

Why translate this game?
This is a gorgeous game, incredibly smartly made, and endlessly replayable since as you defeat enemies, you acquire their cards and no two games play the same. Coupled with multiplayer potential, this could be one of the strongest hardcore strategy, collecting, and RPG experiences on the entire system. It's SUCH a shame that Nintendo didn't have the confidence in us to try it here.

In 2025, I certainly don't have a lot of hope that this project will ever generate the effort needed to release a playable English version, and I regret that I don't have the skill to do it myself. I have the cartridge of the game, and I put about 3 hours into it in an attempt to play the game without Japanese knowledge, but it's just not a fun experience. There are just too many menus.

But I'm putting it out there anyway since it would so great to have this, especially after seeing Culdcept DS's translation come out a few years ago.

Plus, if you've never played this series, now's the time to give it a go! No matter which Culdcept you play, you're playing good Culdcept.

Game Name: Yujo to Kizuna no Hitosara

Developer/Publisher: FuRyu/Bandai Namco Entertainment

Release: December 17, 2015

Genre: Adventure

Does it have lots of text?

Yes.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?

it Released in 2015 and until now there is mo news about it.

What is it about?

In a small shopping district in Japan lies a small special-of-the-day restaurant, Restaurant Yukihira. It is here we meet Soma Yukihira, the young son of the restaurant's owner, Jōichirō Yukihira, who trained him in his own original cooking style, the Yukihira Style. Soma strives to surpass his father one day in cooking. However, by the beginning of the story,

Popularity in Japan:

it has an anime with 5 seasons!

Why I think it needs to be translated?

For the fans of the anime.

What I can do to help:

Nothing ... sorry.

I'd like to see Retro Game Challenge 3 (GameCenter CX: 3-Chōme no Arino) get a translation... It was not well received, and honestly I was so off put with what they did design wise with the characters that I didn't wanna see it, but the retro games in it are great... As far as I know there is not even a translation to read by yourself.

I recently started playing it again, and maybe the challenges aren't other than "beat the game, get a new one...", it seems like it but I can't remember for all the games I already had unlocked now that I got back to it... And maybe there is no text heavy graphical adventure like in the second (those were awesome IMO), still wish it had a translation.

I'd love to see the 3ds medarot games translated. it's honestly so lame how many groups started and stopped it medarot 9, just opensource the tools already and lets the nontechnical fan fill out the text jp > english.

Dragon Quest XI got a project update yesterday in the form of a pinned comment on a youtube video.

The 3DS homebrew community is the best. It just is.

Even when I think something has no chance of happening, someone out there is passionate enough to make it real.
