While I imagine most folks care about the games rather than the operating system of a gaming device, I’m a user interface nerd, so was quite happy to check out this great look at the home menu, health warnings and other general operating system features.

I was under the impression that you could multitask, is that not the case anymore?
You can, Nintendo told us already.

Guy in the video had to quit his game to switch to the AR Games app. I guess since the second app is a game, it thinks it should exit the first game? I've seen videos of people switching between games & internet browsing but never between a game and AR Games.

EDIT: @OP: Paste this over the second line of BBCode to get the video to show up: CODE

Maybe he wanted to quit the game?

Maybe he also didn't know about the multi-tasking. Comments on the video were telling the guy about it.

That actually looks really cool. You can tell where things would pop out of the screen at you. Man, I can't wait to get my hands on it

I personally like the little 3DS intro for every game.

Still, very similar to the DS and the Wii. I hoped that they would do something a bit... more... different?

You CAN multitask. Apparently, it doesn't apply to every software. Game notepad, web browser and some other applications will definetly be allowed while playing.

On the other hand, games themselves (meaning not only (3)DS(i)Ware but AR games and probably Mii Plaza too) are not allowed.

Thank you.

I'm sure that some really powerful things like the cameras and games can't be run simultaneously. It only makes sense.

done thanks.
Anyway he had to quit the game cause you wouldn't be able to play a game while another is paused.
But something like going on an app or checking if a friend is online is what the multitasking would be like.

I can't seem to find your point.

(no negativity in that, just wondering)

Although I do not like the warning things, I might lesson to it. O.o

What he means is that even a really powerful console like the PS3 can't fully multi-task.

It probably can. Sony most likely wasn't bright enough to program it.

Actually, the PS3 really does have "true" multi-tasking in the sense that the game is really just paused and is taking up as much resources as if you were playing it.

Well from what I deduced, it was still suspended as you can still see the icon in the top left corner of the top screen. Plus, once he pressed the home button it asked if he wanted to suspend play, which he did, so I'm pretty sure he didn't quit it.
