That time spent
Are you in the comfort of your warm room, hot chocolate in one hand and controller in the other, occasionally peeking at the snowfall outside? You know it’s that time ‘cause the holiday season is upon us! And what do gamers do in their holiday season? Why, game of course! If not, more intensely and more diversely! How do they do that you ask? Well, there was “The Game Awards”, some new games are out or they can even read some books!. And there’s so much more that they can spend their time doing as gamers!
We’ve just been treated with a relatively impressive “The Game Awards” and not this (sorry if this brought some bad memories). Aiming to bring video games to the red carpet, this year’s TGA was a rollercoaster of emotions; a well-deserved salute to game developers, another low move by Konami against Hideo Kojima, a touching tribute to Satoru Iwata, some gender imbalance issues with the jury panel and games, games and Batman!. Well that was some entertaining time!
Speaking of time, how does it relate to you and gaming? On average, we spend more than 6 hours per week playing video games. That’s not a lot if you consider that we sleep on average for 56 hours a week and nearly 2 hours on the toilet per week. The longest videogames marathon lasted 135 hours 15 minutes 10 seconds according to Guinness World Records. Now it’s your turn to shine! How long do you spend on games on average? What’s your longest playtime? Was it worth it… or not?
