I voted PSP, even while owning both 3DS, and DS lite units. The PSP has some remarkable home console quality games, that even the DS couldn't do. 3DS doesn't belong to this statement, though as it's much more advanced and features more things than a DS lite could.

Obviously DS, far better games library. The amount of dust on my PSP is astoundishing, and I've got it since launch.

At least I enjoyed a lot its homebrew capabilities (NES and SNES emulators ) :P

Though I love my DS Phat and DS Lite to death, I'm going to have to go with the PSP.

The large screen, superior graphics, video playback and a multitude of emulators that run at or near full speed won me over.

This is quite interesting. I expected a PSP-crushing event and an instant win for the DS, but it appears that the PSP receives the praise it deserves! Colour me shocked... :P

I'd actually have thought that you'd be PSPing more often thanks to the Amiga Emulation. Turrican 2 on the go can't be a bad thing???

If only the emu worked as expected... Not to complain of FOL's work, but I've had quite a lot of speed issues with PSPUAE. I've been in search of a better Amiga emulation machine for a while now (maybe the Vita?).

It's... a SRPG... Ugh. I can't stand them anymore. I thought it was a classic RPG.

It isn't a SRPG! If there was one game that I would force someone to play if they've given up hope on JRPGs, like you, it's this one.

Do ittttt.
Funny, I remember seeing that on YT. Oh well, I'll try resurrecting my PSP again, it has the horrible habit to freeze randomly just to not turn on again until you unscrew a certain screw on its back.

Funny stuff.

I love the DS, and I love the PSP... but I'm gonna have to go with the PSP. Superior hardware and all that jazz.

I said the only difference in emulation between the DS and PSP was that the DS lacked PS1 and N64 capabilities.
While you are correct, hardware wise the DS/DSL is possible of playing the GBA, but the DSi isn't. It's additional hardware (DSTwo for most people) that makes it possible. Also the SNES/GBA emu on the PSP is far superior in quality due to better hardware. If the poll was on which had better homebrew, the PSP would win quite easily with just the emulation scene. Gaming on the other hand is a point of personal preference, so that'll be the key factor (and of course we're on a Nintendo-user-dominated forum) :)

The poll is looking interesting, but in the end I doubt it'll change in one way or another. Hopefully people just went out to buy a DS/PSP and try the consoles they don't have. It's really quite satisfying to find an amazing console like the PSP and find out that it's fully compatible with all Nintendo handheld games pre this gen and has a library of quite a few games. Also the DS library is so huge that there's bound to be something for everyone ^^

Results!

As you can see the DS had some healthy competition from the PSP, but alas, the DS won our hearts in the end.
So how do the brackets stand? Thusly:

Join me in an hour or so for a new poll on a generation we can all relate to.

Until then: toodles!
