Hi, I am new here. I am looking to experement with a wii U (which is stuck deleting) I have found some excellent tutorials here which require a teensy 2.0++. I am sure there are a few of these floating around, however they appear to be phasing out. Does anyone know if the teensy 4.1 can be modified or substituted for this? Thank you to all ! ( I apoplogize if there is already a discussion on this, I couldn't find one)

Hi, Thank you for the reply!. I purchased the wii U already bricked. When turned on it boots but has the deleting all contents and settings loop. I haven't been able to get past that. I was able to use the new method by Gary Odernicht to get to boot recovery and dump the otp, but from what I understand, I may need to hard mod. I dont know if anyone has attempted to homebrew it or not.

You should be able to unbrick the wii u, hard mod isn't necessary anymore.

I don't think you need a hardmod. Can you dump logs and send them to me?

I have the otp and seeprom. When I tried to dump, the log folder was empty. I have never used a forum before, i'm not sure how to send directly to you. Should I re-edit and post here?

Ok then the Factory reset is probably also wiping the logs, which makes debugging this problem more anoying. Can you got to System Information in the recovery menu and post the manufacturer and the CID of the MLC/eMMC?

I see a similar problem in a German Forum: https://forum.wii-homebrew.com/inde...nach-dem-Booten-ein/?postID=715725#post715725 but the thread is moving very slow.

I don't have a solution, we would have to investigate that together. If you want I attached the current work in progress version of my recovery menu with built in NAND Dumper. You can use that to dump the NAND to a 64GB sdcard and then extract it at the PC. Maybe this gives us more insight.

Maybe your eMMC is bad, then we would see the broken files during the extraction.

this eMMC is in the "risk group"
If you do the nand dump, we can analyze it for errors.

not sure about using a teensy 4.1, but yeah, teensy 2.0 has been discontinued afaik. just a response to the op mostly.

I'm getting it all set up now. Just trying to put my hands on my SD card reader......

I believe I have been able to use the files you provided, correctly. I didn't see an option for nand dump, but I was able to dump slc and mlc. Is that what is needed? Also, I'm not sure how to upload those files. Do I need to zip them?

yes, dump slc + mlc is the option. Don't upload them here. You can check the mlc dump yourself with wfs-extract. But first we need the dump.

EDIT: don't be concerend about errors during the slc dump, these are a problem of the dumper, not the slc.
But errors during the mlc dump indicate a problem with the mlc / eMMC

Ok, thank you for you're patience. I'll give wfs-extract a try. Just to be clear- I'm using this tool to extract the nand from mlc?

UPDATE- I have run wfs-extract and after playing with the file structure, I am pretty sure I've got everything pointing in the right direction. When I execute, I get a message saying - Failed to open OTP: Keyfile: Failed to open file I figured maybe the otp.bin was corrupted so I re-dumped the otp.bin and seeprom.bin again. That didn't work either. I want to mention that I do not have the mlc.bin (4 files) merged. Not sure if that matters- Thanks

Is this a 8gb console?
Can you show the exact command you are trying to use?
You need to merge the mlc files

EDIT: no your console is a 32GB model. YOu should have 15 mlc files. Did your card have enough free space?

Hi, I'm away from the desk atm but I think I snapped a pic. I ended up merging the files into one. It was 4 mlc files at like 4 gb each. Edit- oh wow I just realized that my sd was 8 gb. I usually use a 32gb. When I dumped it, I put the sd card in my card reader and moved the files to my laptop. The mlc dumped into 4 files. Total of 6.7 gb. I merged them and tried to use wfs-extract on the laptop. I will have to upload a pic of how I ran it in just a while. Just got done putting a transmission in a jaguar:cry:

each file should be 2GB and they need to add up to the size of your mlc. So something went wrong

I see... I'm going to have to get a larger SD card then. You're awesome 👌 I didn't even think about that. I have larger usb 3.0 drives, but the recovery menu has to be run on sd right?

And if the eMMC is bad, you would need solderings skills and a 32GB sdcard to replace it. The 64GB won't work for that. Sorry
