Hi i was patching the game from NSTC-J to NSTC-U and everything went well, then at the end it said it was patching to main.dol thing, but the thing is I've been sitting here for an hour and it still hasen't finished patching it... Is there something wrong or should i attempt again?

Help?

Patching the main.dol shouldn't last longer than a few seconds. Does Wiifrii patch the main.dol, or are you using a 2nd program for this? Do you really need more than the language patch?

If you only patch the language you could try to extract the main.dol with WiiScrubber and patch it with the generic wii patcher.

The alternative would always be to use a loader (Gecko OS, Gamma, SoftChip) and set it to force language.

I don't like patched .isos too. But if somebody has a modchip and wants to run it from the disc channel, then i guess you need to patch it.

Heres what im getting,

[ Select Region Patching....]

a. NTSU-U to PAL
b. NTSU-J to PAL
c. NTSU-J to NTSU-U
d. NTSU-U to NTSU -J
e. PAL to NTSC-U
f. PAL To NTSC-J

q. Exit installation

Select Option: I chose C.

[ Patching From NSTC-J to NSTC-U....]

@@ Reading "main.dol" From Partition 1
@@ Patching ISO Region Code
@@ Patching game video mods
@@ Patching Game Language
@@ Writing patch "Main.Dol"

It just stays there.

And i don't see gamma with a force language option either, it has for video modes but not language.

I never needed to patch it, but i'm pretty sure you can select it somehow. And in SoftChip i know for sure that you can force the language there.

Do japanese games contain english language data? And if then why?

There ya go:

Main Menu

Since the main menu is in Japanese, it can be frustrating to figure out what mode you're picking. Thanks to MarkMan from the TvC Thread, he has translated the menu:
アーケード = Arcade Mode
バーサス = Vs. Mode
サバイバル = Survival
タイムアタック = Time Attack
トレーニング = Training
プレイデータ = Play Data
オプション = Option
ショップ = Shop
ギャラリー = Gallery
オリジナルゲーム = Original (Mini) Games

This is in order. When you hit the start button at the title screen, you are highlighting Arcade Mode.
