Hey people, I'm just looking around for a tablet that's not too expensive but runs good enough. Not too weak that makes applications lag. XD

I'm looking into Samsung G Tab 2 10.1. Is there a better tablet out there and for a reasonable price.

I thought about getting a laptop, but I'm opting for a tablet instead because it is more convenient for my needs.

the samsung galaxy tab is a good all-rounder, what is you maximum budget? and i can recommend other tablets.

what do you want the tablet to do?

gaming?
hdmi ports?
usb ports?
memory cards sd?
use for media?
what version of android OS do you want to run?

and so on.

Think again! Make a list of your wants and reconsider your thoughts because I personally think that a laptop offers everything a tablet can do and much more.....

But if you are so adament for getting a tab so go with your current choice!

Mainly youtubing, web browsing and face chatting with friends on skype.

HDMI output would be nice, but not necessary and not picky about the OS.

a tablet is the way to go imo, yes a laptop can burn cds and do windows stuff, but i think most people have a pc that can do all of that already anyway, plus a tablet is more portable than carrying around a huge laptop anyway, (plus you can buy wireless keyboards and mouse for tablets so reasoning is moot)

With microsoft surface and the nexus tab on the horizon it might be better to wait a bit, at the very least they might drive down prices of other tablets.

And a desktop can do all the computation that a laptop can do and more, so why don't people all get desktops for school? :P

Rhetorical question.

this one could be a alternaitve:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-Android-Tablet-Wi-Fi-Version/dp/B0060VHICQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340212464&sr=8-1

but be warned that tegra 2 is already outdated (you won't be able to play any future games on google play as they won't be supported anymore), positive thing about that is tegra 2 tablets will get cheaper and more affordable and the older games are still able to run but you won't be able to play newer stuff, but for the things that you want to do tegra 2 is just fine imo.

i think sticking to the samsung galaxy tab is the best idea as it will be getting the ice cream sandwich update soon, motorola have very poor support in the uk but thier tablets have everything you need and are a decent price range.

You quoted the wrong guy, but nevermind.

Cheers for that, I think samsung galaxy tab could be a much better option if it's still getting supported. :)

yes they are cheaper but you don't get the apps and another features like you do with android os and ios, think about it why are microsoft moving to the tablet market themselves?
you are quite right.
But you can always run android apps on the computer(not only vm but also install it like any other os!

OR

He could wait till the release of microsoft surface...that would be the best of both worlds.
