Basic Summory:
for NTSC machine.....
1: You Patch a SystemMenu3.2U.wad to use IOS249 instead of IOS30. Utility to patch is in First Post.
This makes the Icon/Banner show up in Disc Channel for 1:1 backups that match your region. Decrypted and out of region disks do not display icon/banner.
From this point you can also launch and run games if the ISO was patched to IOS249 such as Red Steel, Mortal Kombat etc...
2. Now that the games show up in Disc Channel without need to use Menu Patcher or Rebooter you just need IOS's in place that can run backups.
Now use WiiPower's Multi-cIOS-Installer 0.31 (or similar) to install a cIOS in place of N's official IOS. A fairly safe and fun place to start is IOS37 because with
it you are getting Rock Band USB instrument compatibility. So install cIOS37 dip7 as IOS37. You may have to use Any Title Deleter to remove IOS37 before you
install the cIOS37 i it's place. Pop in the Rock Band backup of your region and launch from disc channel and play. BE VERY CAREFUL AND TRIPLE CHECK your
settings when installing IOS. This is not a hack for Newbies to be playing with right now.
3. Once you've got the first cIOS working properly you can just repeat procedure for the other IOS used by games. 21,31,33,34,35,36 etc.... I replaced 31-36 with cIOS36 dip 7. Be aware that if you want to change IOS35 using MCI you can't just overwrite it. You have remove it with ATD first and this will render Homebrew Channel unable to launch until IOS35 is back on machine. To do this I booted MCI as boot.dol from SD card using twilight hack. After that Homebrew Channel functionality
is restored and you now can boot games that use IOS35 directly from disck channel. WiiBlaster made a list of the IOS used by games in an earlier post.
That's the basics of beast. Exciting stuff for us old fart old school hackers.
Here is link to WiiPower's Multi-CIOS-Installer 0.31, this version only lets you install IOS between 33-255. Ether's version will let you install to lower numbered IOS.
