Just a quik question just so nobody gets bored here.
What does the following IOS'S on 3.4 all do:
IOS254
IOS5
IOS51
IOS10
IOS4

I know IOS50 is for the main MENU

254 is either PatchMii, or whatever Nintendo added to prevent PatchMii.
5 was created by Nitrotux awhile ago, as a really early cIOS.
51 came with the latest shop I believe (Just another normal IOS, no signing bug though).
4 comes on all Wii's, I believe it is suggested it is used during factory installs.

Post this here too since its relevant to both this thread and preloader
I was looking at the route of finding the new memory address the menu is moved to when using preloader and changing the appropriate line in the source and recompiling. thats why i am looking for the titleid and memory location, it looks as though thats how menuloader interfaces with the sys menu and hence why it doesn't work with preloader.
#define SYSMENU_ADDR 0x8132FF80
#define SYSMENU_LEN 0x380000
#define SYSMENU_TITLEID 0x100000002ULL

so changing these to match the new location of sys menu should allow us to autoboot menu patcher and do away with the need for backup loader to load 1:1 games from any region. So if anyone can figure out the new addys send them to the thread or to my pm.

Srath, do a title lister, I maybe know why the disc shows the update on the channel, but since I'm not sure and I don't feel like being flamed

, could you please do the title lister and post your IOS section, please...!!!

IOS4 reads the update partition of the disc

And since it's not DIP'ed it cannot read the update partition. It has only one CONTENT entry in the TMD and that is its local 00000000.APP file.

Weird, I use the trent fox's wad packer 0.2b and I could pack the IOS50, but in the choosing screen the packer tells me it is NTSC-J region

Anyone here have a link the FTPII version who can show the NAND please ? Its much more convenient to do a wi-fi dump.

I have linked a few tools to the first post... so you want to check back to 1st post periodically if you don't feel like weeding through threads for some links to some of the stuff already posted.

If anyone still needs the system menu wad or the actual rescue ntsc-u bushing disc I have that as well... Just PM me.

I think I have tried every menu-tweaking .dol there is available and tried different stuff with.. Alot of time the app works but results in a crash somewhere... And other miscellaneous .dols... And hopefully Crediar will add the .elf loading as well so we can hopefully boot straight into linux as well.

I was almost too tired to edit this... wrong thread... i have posted some tools in the 1st post of preloader thread... my bad.

Just wondering, but what's keeping us from having 6x read speed instead of the 3x we have now?

I wonder if that actually is the most frequently asked AND answered question in this part of the forums?

search function

I'm on 3.2 right now, and delete the update from most of my games, but I have Wii Fit wich some people says it is 3.3, trucha signer can't open it, Scrubber can't open it, so I trusted it was 3.3, and I was actually attemping to upgrade thru the disc, but it only shows the game banner, I turnd off Starfall, and still no update from disc, maybe "N" said: ".......ok so you're a big pirate and can go up and down thru the different versions, go play and stop trying to upgrade again........."

I think there is a newer IOS30 or IOS36, and that's why you're getting the update banner on the Disc Channel....!!!

I actually don't think there are that many straight answers to that question.
I mean if you look hard, you may find it, but only if you look reaaaaally hard.

I think that it's because the security chip on the wii's dvd drive reads the disc type, if it is found to be an WOD than it is read at 6x, if it is found to be a DVD, than 3x.
