Hi, just want to see if anyone can give some advice regarding this.
I just did a bunch of stuff to upgrade my Wii...it was a 3.3J with hardmod and softmod....managed to change system to 3.2U after doing downgrade and region change.

After I did all that.. I tried to connect to the net and it ask to update the system...so now it's updated to 4.0U. Everything seems to work fine...I did also download Wanikoko's 4.0 upgrader....so the question is....is it better to use Wanikoko's update or just do the update through Wii....does it make a difference? Did I updated something that will prevent my Wii from running backup etc..? I know before we always say to keep it at 3.2 or something.. I already have homebrew and stuff installed.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

From what I understand, you did Nintendo's update first. So doing Waninkoko's after is useless. You most likely now cannot install WADs then run them from the SD card. Everything you already put on before updating should be fine.

I haven't tried installing new Wads yet..I do have Wad manager 1.4 installed before when it was 3.3 and 3.2....so I don't need to downgrade and redo the upgrade using Wanikoko's upgrade then? I guess that's what I should've used right?

I read there's some fix...is that the patch ios60? I am sorry.. I never really understand the different ios all along..I just keep updating the 249 ones usually.

Thanks.

I would like to find out as well, i am a long time stalker first time poster/register(er?) Im in the same boat as you i am 3.2US with Twilight hack HBC and wii gator and i dont know how to go up to 4.0 just yet. I am still conducting my research to find out what is the best way to upgrade and if i am going to lose my HBC and Wiigator ability whenever i do this and what to use instead. Let me know how yours turned out as you seemed to have updated using Wanikoko.
