Not much I can do there.
Thog helped me figure out what the limit I'm hitting is.

There are only two AudioRenderer sessions globally.
If the game takes both and sys-tune is running it'll abort guaranteed.

I'll implement a toggle so you don't have to reboot to play those games.

@1basti1
Remove the boot2 flag and give this build a try.

I made it so the overlay launches the sys-module if it's not running and you have the option to disable it without rebooting.

Seems to work for me. ;)
Isn't it possible to have this as a dynamic sysmodule? It would be more consistent. But this works too.

Thanks.

This will be great function :-)
Yes but that might also require to have a preset playlist to play on boot, because playlist wipes itself on reboot. Maybe a default playlist saved in a standardized playlist format, and multiple playlist support if you want to switch between playlists. A lot of work, but I think it would be a cool idea. Though it might become unnecessary if NXThemes added support for Background Music.

Sadly no.
This function sends a command to the sysmodule that tells it to cleanly exit. The most important step is unregistering the service so on consequent starts the name isn't occupied.

We had a talk about that a while back about having that port standardized so something like ovl-sysmodules could close those services too.

Play on top.
There is no way to mute game BGM except in game - if they give you the option - or patching on a game to game basis.

I guess I could add the option to turn down game master volume.

Ah ok, as an example I have always hated Splatoons repetitive music that has no volume control. I would love to just hear the SFX and play my own music, but I guess the only true way would be to dummy out any BGM related files in the NSP. Unless there is a generic method, I have no idea.

Oof, I didn't tried a song. Just tried to close the overlay and start a game, that didn't work before.

if only the 3ds was powerful enough to do this and/or Colors! DS had a built-in music player so you can draw and listen to music, no iPod needed.
