It's not useful at all. But if you're on 1.0.0 you could use the guide to go to 4.x (or above) without burning fuses and once a coldboot exploit comes out, just go back to your original FW (because no fuses have been burnt) and apply it.

I am on 3.0.0 and am going to 5.1.0 so I can play newer games, having only 3 fuses blown I will then be able to go back to 3.0.0 when Atmosphere comes out (if that's even required) so I can install coldboot which for the time being is said to only work on 1.0 - 3.0.0 firmwares.

There's no such thing as an "more ban resistant (emunand)".
If you have emunand, the information about the console and certs are still shared between sysnand and emunand.
You get banned in one, the other does as well.

I don't get why people are claimoring emunand as if it is some sort of hacking messiah, that shit's overrated and it's more cumbersome than a relief to be honest. I would much rather have it all in a sigpatched sysnand.

And no, using online in a clean sysnand while only using emunand for backups and homebrew WON'T save you from a ban.

This is how my 3DS survived, OFW for online purchasing and shit, emuNAND for everything else. emuNAND was highly customized, if Reggie ever saw that he'd jizz in his pants and insta-ban me.

Thanks for that. I am currently awaiting my SX Pro kit to arrive. I have a Switch on 3.0.2 which I think (if I'm right) is too high for coldboot anyway. In your personal opinion, is there any reason for me to stay on 3.0.2 ? I'm wanting to use exfat and so half of me is thinking fuck it, just update to the latest firmware as SX OS is supported anyway. Then half of me is getting scare-mongered into thinking what if I update and then regret it.

I hope they add support for updating games soon.

I have a feeling that update thing and bans is bullshit written by users who use layeredfs and blame it on SX OS.

I have updated all my games (backups , and still am, since day 1, I never had any issue.
but i have not registered an account with eshop or online play yet.

I emailed Team Xecuter about it and they told me they are investigating further before making a statement, but that they also never had an issue and also suspect incomplete testimony about what users have done.

If anything happen, I will let you know, but I doubt it.

I don't have them at hand, but they're on one of those "Ban" threads.
It's either the Ban wave one or the Ban thread with everyone reporting what they did and so on.

It's not emunand per-se, but basically what some of the users that got banned did is that they used the OFW for playing online only, while using SX OS for backups offline and nothing else. The reports are not as massive as the ones for LayeredFS uses, but there are quite a few there.

No. If I recall that right SciresM said anything under 3.0.2 might see a coldboot exploit but I'm not completely sure about that.
However I recommend you to use this guide to upgrade your firmware to keep your fuses. Just in case.

No. If I recall that right SciresM said anything under 3.0.2 might see a coldboot exploit but I'm not completely sure about that.

I can confirm that the slowdown and audio stuttering is fixed now in openbor (and I guess some other games/emulators that may have suffered from this issue)
