Hacking Question SX OS to ATMOSPHERE? Need help

I heard that there was a 12.0 version for nintendo switch and the others are migrating to atmosphere from their SX OS?

Do I really have to migrate as well?

BTW, I am using a mod chip though with SXOS.

What are the pros and cons for this?

No you don't HAVE to. You can choose to stay with SX OS. The con is that SX OS only supports HOS up to version 11.0.0 but for now all games can run under that version (some might need to be patched). But in the furture at some point new games (and updates to existing games) will come out that require HOS 12.x and if you want to play those games you have to make the switch eventually.

Eventually you will have to if you plan on playing newer games and other content.

I was off the scene for few months, was there any confirmation that sxos is dead and there won't be any updates?

It has been 7 months since the last update of their CFW. Since there were some members from TX that also worked on Gateway, we will likely never get confirmation that they are dead because Gateway remained silent on updating their CFW as well.
