It appears you are. It sounds like you only partially removed the protection checks, or it would be fully working.

The point im trying to make is what if the issue is not the software and it's just either a lack of patches or it requires some modified kip.. Adding that stuff in and making it work wouldn't magically just make the menu now be considered cracked despite havent not modified it any further. Since it didnt boot and now it does, i think thats basically book definition.

The work you did to bypass certain security in the software is amazing, definitely. But you can't call it a crack, because the paying portion of the software that is supposed to be bypassed and working... isn't working, whether that's something you or some one else has to do.

If some one torrented a crack for a game, and asked why they can only go to the menu and play the first level like in the demo yet can't play the full game, no amount of response or reason on the cracker's end is going to deem that crack a crack, no matter how justified their efforts are. It would get taken down by sites, because it's simply not a crack. In this case, it's the same thing, while the work you did is great, no matter how much you show you did, you cannot call it a crack. It's a pointless release until the function behind the paywall works.

I understand what you mean but using your example, if you downloaded a cracked game and you got an error because you didn't install the proper environment on your os, would you say it's not a crack?

That’s a user error and wouldn’t invalidate that the game was indeed cracked. By scene standards, if you released your “crack” it would be nuked as it doesn’t enable full functionality like the paid version

Tons of Information on how SX OS works is now gone.

You guys complained when:
- I made this threads - complained about ethics (says pirates here probably from 3ds scene who use shit like freeshop)
- Explained a PoC on how editing the boot.dat's public key could effectively let us crack SX OS - complained that I had no work to show and apparently just stole info from others
- Literally re-compiled an edited version with the new key that booted but froze (progress none the less) - complained that I stole hexkyz work even though hexkyz dealt with decryption keys and I dealt with unpacking and repacking efforts
...
- Released the .nro Album App of SX OS 1.4 - complained yet again, relatively same reason as above
- Patched/Cracked the .nro and released it on Twitter (An essential step to a complete SX OS crack) - complained making accusations that I stole rei's crack and just edited text (which is very not true)

Notable ACTUAL fucking discussion made on this thread:
- A dude pointed out the location of the public key
- Explained how he found it
- Some users explained about some of the Console Fingerprint make-up that I had wrong, mainly the "regular old ascii->hex" ones.
- thats about it, depressing af, everyone else: ethics, why crack its only $30 you paid $300 on switch, pragma is a fagma, pragma fuck off

What I learned:
People here are more toxic then overwatch and thats fucking saying something.

The menu is cracked, but SX OS is more than just the menu. The rest hasn't been cracked, therefore SX OS isn't cracked.

Whether it's just a lack of patches, modified kip, or whatever.

I might be wrong, but going by Warez Scene rules this would be classed as a 'Global Nuke' for being only a partial crack.

It seems more targeted towards movies.

Then again, sx does have actual updates whereas the hacking community just tends to fuck around for a few weeks, cause drama, and maybe something will be released by a smart fella who's avoided everyone until then.
