Gaming Sword of Ditto time restriction

So I have been playing this game for the past day. I had presumed the time restriction was lifted for the switch, but when I reach level 6 which is mormor's level in the beginning. The game prompts me that there's a 24hr time limit. I am currently on v1.14 of the game and am quite frustrated, because I have started a new game twice now. Once on regular mode and another on relaxed mode thinking the 24hr time limit was related to the difficulty setting. Am I doing something wrong here?

No, it is a normal part of the game afaik. That being said, the timer does pause while in a toy or trial dungeon so you can take your time in those. You will also have a chance to do some shopping after the timer ends so don't worry about that.

If you didn't know, googling suggests that once you progress enough there's ways to buy more time.

this is prior to completing the first run. I suppose if you level up to mormo's level the game forces a 24hr time restriction on you anyways
