Let's be real...A HEN isn't A stock FW...it's custom..So A HEN in itself is A CFW. Please go and tell me how that is wrong. Since that is what I been seeing on the forums today..Alot of arguments. What's wrong with people getting angry today? lol people are crazy on here for some reason.

Not really. But somebody corrected me about something in one of my posts and now i'm all defensive about what I post even though I was right in what I said. These forums get u all edgy.

Upon second reading of your post I came to the conclusion u wasn't arguing it wasn't A CFW. My bad for inciting A potential riot. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY! lol

Glad you came to your senses lol. I'm actually trying to figure out the difference between a HEN and a CFW because I'm curious. If you've got any more information to share for a noob like me, please go ahead

Imo, the switch is still booting it's stock HOS so technically it's not CFW. A cfw is like atmosphere where they're building a new firmware for the switch to boot. This one is just like luma3ds, it's called a cfw but technically it's not.

But hey! Just my two cents. Maybe this should be called custom stock firmware. Lol.

Correct me if i'm wrong, But doesn't hekate boot applets from Atmosphere? I think technically speaking, you could still call it cfw

It does it in the OFW making it custom. Idk really i'm just sayin. Seems custom to me. Have every system of mine modded in some way or another. Xbox. PS2. PS3. Soon PS4. 3DS. NEW 3DS XL. Soon to be Switch. PS Vita. Was burning discs on dreamcast back in the day. Xbox 360. I'd say A HEN is kinda A CFW. All i'm sayin. Forgot my Wii U I just modded. I been around & i'm sure I've modded more than that over the years.

So what features of Hekate does this strip out? And whats the point of using this if it still crashes when the Switch goes to sleep? I'd use this if it didn't crash on sleep.

No need to go through menus it will just load the firmware with homebrew enabled.

ah ok ty, I will probably just stick with Hekate for now though unless this gets some cool stuff

Under tools in the source code there is a python script called "convert_image.py" if you supply it with a PNG that is 1280x720 it will create an image.txt file rename that to splash.bin and you are good to go.
