I got this switch here for a replacement usb-c port that a customer botched up, and I've replaced the port, and the fuse they knocked off as well as replaced the fuel gauge that was damaged. Now the switch visibly powers on, as it enters RCM mode (I'm guessing they just forgot to inform me it was autorcm enabled?) so I inject a payload and the backlight comes on and responds to button presses and screen taps depending on the payload launched, so I know it's doing something... However I've hit a brick wall at diagnosing it any further, I can't see anymore visual damage, it doesn't even entertain the dock (maybe it would if I could boot it into something that output to the dock?, unsure as I don't know any payloads I can inject that would then have dock video output).

So since I can't see anything, I can't figure out what options I'm choosing either. So double predicament.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, though I'm thinking along the lines of the gpu is possibly half dead.

With the multimeter check if the "chokes" near P13USB chip have continuity, then if the capacitors are short, check BQ24193 chip and pin 5 and pin 6 on M92t36. Plug the charger and if you have between 3 - 6v on pin 5 and 6, then M92t36 it's ok.....

Sorry, not super following what you're referring to as chokes? The ceramic component near the lcd ribbon is ground on both sides, unsure if it's supposed to be a ceramic inductor or just some weird jumper for ground? additionally the components I believe you're referring to as chokes below the lcd ribbon connector have continuity straight through them, but not to ground. Considering those traces seemingly lead right to the tegra, if that's not what's supposed to happen then I might be out of luck with this repair aha
