Please close this post, I have since fixed the issue using my soldering iron and multimeter.

A small breakdown:

  • Switch cell won't charge but rather sustain charge when using charger.
  • Hekate shows -350mA without charger and -1mA/+1mA when charger plugged in.
  • 4.7uF 16v 0402 MLCC capacitor near charge IC was accidentally removed(Switch continued working fine for 2 months after this, pretty sure it's a smoothing cap).
  • I've never used a third party cable, charger nor dock, always the original Nintendo charger and dock supplied with console
  • One of the 10K 50mW carbon film resistors near an IC which is located on the lower half near the USB Strap point looks slightly damaged.
  • My cell was somehow discharged to 2.3v, I used an external charger to get it back to life and it holds charge fine.
