*Yawn* Another attempt at Nintendo playing cat and mouse
What was there to really patch after 5.0.0? Most everything known was patched already. I would say this one is more bug fixes with third party accessories than vulns. Though it's likely some kind of vulnerability was patched that wasn't public.

Something trivial no doubt, Ninty's getting desperate.

Disagree. I like it in the code block better.
eh, i thought the code looked better too
No guys it looked like this
Code:
Improvements Included in Version 5.0.1 (Distributed 3/26/2018)

General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience
Code:
0100000000000816 ALL Sysupdate titlelisting title v335609886 5.0.1 Changed
0100000000000809 ALL System Version Title v335609886 5.0.1 Changed
0100000000000818 ALL System config v335609886 5.0.1 Changed
0100000000001000 ALL "qlaunch" 'System applet' v335609886 5.0.1 Changed
0100000000001013 ALL "myPage" sysapplet v335609886 5.0.1 Changed

I was expecting a relatively soon minor update after the recent major update, probably bug fixes. From the dates of previous updates it seems to be a pattern, as I would have guessed. Once a major update is released, it's bound to show more bugs up immediately than a minor update.

...I was hoping that this new update would give a new grace period that might let me download game updates and eshop shit, but no luck so far. I'll try again tomorrow just in case it didn't kick in yet.

... Or maybe they may have fixed an issue with third party accessories? It's not always about closing holes in the system..

Ok, how about this, let's all stop guessing and assuming what it is immediately like idiots. Just wait like a day and I'm sure someone will know what it all does.
I agree, I like to speculate though.

Personally, I think it is probably improvements and bug fixes to KASLR. Knowing Nintendo they probably did a "quick patch" to add that and now they are fixing anything broken beyond the known entrypoint. Maybe something like a semi-predictable dataspace due to their implementation if you do manage to run some arbitrary code somewhere.

And I think that looks better. Just my opinion.

Well, it does make you wonder what made them release this patch and what exactly it does...
Still nothing worth updating for so I'm staying on 4.1 :yayswitch:
