Hardware switch pro controller turning on switch?

Hey guys,

When my switch is docked,

If I press the home button it will flash and try to find the switch (to no avail). Then when I press it again, it syncs up quickly and turns everything on.

Is this normal or is there a fault as I read its meant to come on straight away.

I did try to pair the remote via bluetooth with my PC and scared I might have messed something up by doing that.

I experience this. Always assumed it is normal.

seems normal. Had same experience.. need to press any key from controller to wake the controller up and hold Home Button to wake the Switch or turn it ON..make sure TV is ON before waking the Switch..
