Well, we don't know that. This glitch exists for 3 years already (and just in 2020 success rate of this exploit got high enough to get a modchip release) and still is not patched.
This sounds like architectural issue that cannot be easily patched without putting tons of money (fusee-gelee was a software bug and it was patched thanks to changes in software). Maybe that's why they put so many resources to find TX members via interpol. We will see if they can do hacks here and there to make this glitch unpredictable enough for modchip to not work with new motherboard revision that will allow them some changes. For sure current modchips won't be compatible because of motherboard changes. Modchip won't fit in old places.

We won't know until OLED release.

Good news, they are hackable. Bad news, it requires an expensive and rare modchip that requires soldering.
