After getting tired of having to keep adjusting the Dat0 adapter, i finally tried to do the kamikaze myself. Unfortunately i was just receive a black screen.

Here are pics of my attempt, and wanted to know if my proposed solution would work.

Looking at the UV light photo, it looks like i severed the Dat0 connection, so i was thinking of solder masking the area except 2 exposed copper traces and just having a solder blob to join them together.

Exposing a bigger area can definitely fix this.
One thing to check is that you haven't gone too deep into the next layer.
You don't want a solder blob to connect the DAT0 and the next layer.

Thanks! I should have made a bigger prep at the start but wanted to be conservative to make it neater, it just made it so much harder.
How do i check if the next layer is exposed?
Is the next layer ground? - if it is ii could just do a continuity check with ground in that area
