Thanks much!
The same reasons to stay on lower FW that I've read around still applies? (Self-booting exploits will be available on lower FW, but not higher?)
And how's the situation with spoofing FW for backups of newer games? Is that fixed as of yet?
There is a theoretical coldboot exploit up to firmware 3.0.1 but I wouldn't hold my breath over it. And the warmboot exploit, Deja Vu, has been made to work as high as firmware 6.0.1 but part of it has been reported to Nintendo so it may see a release soon.

Also, spoofing the firmware of Nintendo Switch games is impossible because they are hard-coded to run on higher firmwares.

hello everyone,

I want to hack my switch.
I am at version 6 or 6.0.1 (in the system info I cannot see the version it just says system update is ready).

I have bought an RCM Jig (Alftek RCM Jig) and want to go through the process I found to install CFW (google guide sdsetup com).

The only problem is I do not have a USB cable to connect to my PC, can I do the process with the AutoRCM jig I bought?

I think there is a microsd card reader in the side of this thing.

Or can I alternatively use the SD card to inject the payload?

Since this is the Switch noob paradise I humbly request your help :)

You need a USB-C cable or dongle to inject payloads. AutoRCM only removes the need for a jig since the purpose of a jig is to enter RCM (AUTOmatically enter RCM).

I do have a dongle (it came together with the Jig), please google what I wrote in the parenthesis in my previous post, since I am a new user I am not allowed to post links yet.

If what I have is indeed a dongle, then can you link to a guide that I can follow? (ideally without a USB type C cable)

Alright so I need to update from 3.0.2 OFW to a 5.2 CFW setup. I need to backup my botw cartridge first though.

Can I do that before updating the fw in hekate?

I will need a patch to disable my cartridge reader so I don't burn it's fuse, right? Where can I find that?

First of all, in your own words, you stated you bought an RCM jig; nowhere did you state you have a dongle. You can control+F your post and you make no mention of a dongle. A dongle =/= a jig; dongles are for sending payloads while jigs are for entering RCM. You may have confused yourself with that terminology.

Second, yes you can just follow the guide you linked with the dongle instead. Every step that involves sending a payload with a USB cable would just be substituted with the dongle.

Yes, you can dump cartridges with homebrew applications such as gcdumptool or WAIN cart dumper.

As for the patch, ChoiDujourNX automatically generates a hekate_ipl.ini that has the necessary "patch" under one of its Launch Configurations. Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable configuring the .ini file, you can use ReiNX to apply the patch instead. If you make an empty file named "nogc" in the /ReiNX folder, it will automatically apply the patch on all relevant firmwares which is one of the benefits of ReiNX.

is it common for games to crash and require uninstalling n reinstalling? i was playing mario party with the wireless turned on and when i exited out and started up sonic the game broke, is it due to the controllers being in wireless mode or just common with having it hacked?

Will I be able to dump botw after updating and using the patch in hekate somehow?

I've never installed a split .XCI or .NSP file but going off of on the installation instructions on the n1dus thread:

Not sure how you generate a folder with an extension but in Windows, you can right-click on a Folder and go to Properties to enable the Archive flag.

Thanks for your help...I got it to work last night but only when I split the xci files with the splitNSP.py python script NOT Xci-cutter program. My mistake for thinking all splitting process or programs were the same. The splitNSP.py script created an folder with .nsp at the end. As long as I changed the folder to end in .xci and set the archive bit, the folder looked like a “file” to n1dus program. Note: the folder that splitNSP.py generates containers files named 00 and 01 (for example) without any extension.

All CFW seem to suffer from a problem when you switch between games in the home screen. We don't know why, but given that the console has been hacked and therefore compromised, a few crashes here and there are expected.

Not sure if you'd be able to dump it when the patch is applied since it disables the gamecart slot so just to be on the safe side, I recommended dumping it before you update.

I see notice for Rekado it is recommended to use a USB C->A adapter and then an OTG adapter for the phone. Is this a recommendation only for non-USB-C phones or for all phones?

@Draxzelex thanks, now i can enter in hbmenu :), but when i select tinfoil my switch crash:shy:any tips?
Atmosphere 0.7.2 with  patches and fw 2.3.0 , latest tinfoil-5656954
Tinfoil was never supported on firmware 2.3 (before XorTroll took over as main developer) so you may have to update your firmware. I recommend updating your firmware without burning fuses with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX since fuses prevent downgrading. This way, you can revert back to firmware 2.3 if there is ever another exploit released that doesn't involve the need for a jig and USB cable such as Deja Vu.

As long the serial number is XAJ700064 and not XAJ70064, then it is not patched and ready to be hacked. As for the best and most definitive guide, you can find that at https://www.sdsetup.com/
