Can I ask where to download the system update? Is 3.0.2 available only via Attack on Titan 2 or Xenoblade 2?Use the homebrew application, ChoiDujourNX, to add exFAT support to your console.

I'm so pissed. Just rewatched the tutorial again to make sure I followed correctly and I did everything exactly as mentioned. Backup the 2.5GB eMMC SYS files (OPTION 2), the 29.1GB eMMC (OPTION 1) rawnand, and then dump your systems biskeys, but no mention of the boot files. Yet every other tutorial i've since read, tells you to dump the boot files tooI've never seen a successful transplant of a boot0/boot1 from a foreign console. I think your issue is a little more advanced and warrants professional advice from someone like rajkosto, mattytrog, or CTCaer.
You cannot ask where to download the system update from since it is considered copyrighted material. And aside from those 2 games, there are other ways to obtain it. Pay extra attention to any coughing. Can I ask where to download the system update? Is 3.0.2 available only via Attack on Titan 2 or Xenoblade 2?
ill need to acquire the folders containing firmware content somehow, some of the options are:
These are common cartridges and firmware versions they contain:
- Extract the UPDATE partition from an XCI image of the cartridge that contains the update you want into a folder
Puyo Puyo Tetris/ 1-2 Switch (1.0.0) - would never recommend installing this one as no Switch made with 1.0.0 actually runs it (its a slightly different 1.0.0 with exFAT that bricks you)
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2/ Mario plus Rabbids Kingdom Battle/Cars 3 Driven to Win (2.1.0)
Splatoon 2/ Sonic Forces (2.3.0)
Pokemon Tournament DX (3.0)
Batman The Telltale Series/ Syberia 2/ The Elder Scrolls V. Skyrim (3.0.1)
Attack on Titans 2/ Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (3.0.2)
Bayonetta 2/ Gal Gun 2 (4.0.1)
Kirby Star Allies (4.1.0)
Octopath Traveler (5.0.2)
Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version JPN (5.1.0)
- Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents/registered folder from another Switch that is running the firmware version you want
- Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents folder from a Switch that has a "System update is pending" notification. This will let you pick either the currently running firmware, or the pending firmware to install.
- *cough* xbins *cough*
Switch scene is still evolving (its only been a year and a half since it was released) and some guides are outdated or misinformed.I'm so pissed. Ok then, can't I just update to 6.0.1 and install ReiNX afterwards? Buying a game just to get access to an update file that was once rolled out for free doesn't sit too well with me.You cannot ask where to download the system update from since it is considered copyrighted material. You can but you may lose out on access to future exploits that do not need the use of a jig and USB cable to load CFW/hombrew/hacks because if you update to 6.0.1 officially, you will burn fuses making it impossible to downgrade without booting into RCM first. Also exFAT is separate from firmware; it is not automatically granted when you update to the latest firmware.Ok then, can't I just update to 6.0.1 and install ReiNX afterwards? Depends on the masterkey encryption used in the game. New masterkeys are found in every major firmware update. The usage of the ignore required firmware version resets it to the lowest firmware version of that masterkey encryption (e.g. a game that "needs" 5.1 can be made to run on any 5.X firmware). If the game uses a higher masterkey encryption, then you will need to update as there is currently no way to spoof games to run on lower firmwares and there may never be a way.Ok forgot a question. What happens when newer games come out that require higher firmware versions. Does it still work?

ChoiDujourNX is a homebrew application that can install (not download) any firmware update you feed into it. And updating usually does break some aspects of CFW but in turn, homebrew developers often update their work when a new system update comes out (look no further than the 11.8 3DS update that broke Luma and was eventually fixed). Lastly, those keys cannot be injected into the console outside of a firmware update to the best of my knowledge. (Games are also hardcoded to run on higher firmwares so even if you break the encryption, you would have to rebuild the games to run on lower firmwares.)Ok but how can you update your firmware if you get banned because of the software you have on the switch? Can you still update even if you are banned? And won't updating destroy some stuff? And maybe in the future we can't even get those keys or?
Thank you, I didn't know updating would burn anything. You can but you may lose out on access to future exploits that do not need the use of a jig and USB cable to load CFW/hombrew/hacks because if you update to 6.0.1 officially, you will burn fuses making it impossible to downgrade without booting into RCM first. Its the exact same principle as the "Ignore Required Firmware Version" feature of Tinfoil except Tinfoil automates the process for you.Thank you, I didn't know updating would burn anything.
The way I see it, I have 2 options: enable AutoRCM right after updating through Horizon (this would save me the hassle of dumping any keys to extract .xci files and updating via ChouDujourNX) or stay on 3.0.2.
This guide here says that Tinfoil allows you to install and play games on lower firmwares as well. Is it true? (I'm asking because you didn't mention this when answering vree)
Starlink works fine on 5.1 if you use the bypass required firmware version in Tinfoil when installing the game and its updates/DLC.Just a dumb Noob-y question and wasn't sure where to ask so thought here might be a good idea, I bought a switch a while back on 4.1.0, when I bought it I had to buy secondhand as funds were low and I really wanted to play. I didn't have any games and asked the guy if he had one to test it and he said he would leave formatting till after. when met up he seem nice and I chatted to him and he was asking about the hacking of them as I said I had an interest. at the end he said you seem like nice guy and I changed my account password so I'll leave formatting the console. my question is this, I had to upgrade to 5.1 for the ExFAT update but I haven't updated since, with newer games coming out like Star link I was reading it wants 6.0 I was wondering as it might become inevitable if I updated to 6.0 would the games from the previous owner stop working?

None of the latest games actually require firmware 6.0. When a new firmware comes out, games do not automatically require it; games have to be in production around the time the firmware is out. Games will probably require firmware 6.0 by the time firmware 7.X comes out possibly. But what about those people lower than firmware version 5.x how can they still play the latest games? If the only way to get those newer games is to update?
Also is there an easy way to update exfat? Found one guide but that was more insane than the switch hack on it's own.
I'm not sure how updating your firmware would suddenly make games unplayable. If that was the case, everyone who bought games wouldn't update lest they risk them breakingcool, I had hear that, though bit apprehensive as haven't used homebrew on this NAND yet but I had heard that you could ignore the Firmware version, thank you.
My question however was mostly in regards the games left on the console by the previous owner, he changed his password (I assume online) and the switch won't log in, but the games work fine, I was wondering if I upgraded to 6.0 (as I'm sure at some point will be needed) would the games stop working?
Hi.
Trying homebrew DZ i uninstalled 1 (or more) title/ticket/whatever related to Xenoblade 2.
Obviously, my save now does not work.
Because I could not know which one it was, I tried to install all DLC i found on the web.
I installed eveything, both on Nand and SD but the game keeps saying that DLC has been erased.

(There is also torna and V2, not on the image)
Game is cartridge and dlc are nsp taken from the web
I just cleaned and reinstalled eveything, still not working :-(
I definitely need help with that.
Edit: i found more dlc to install but i'ts not working yet
How can i know which dlc is missing ?

The way Nintendo Accounts work now is there is one primary console and a certain number of secondary consoles. The primary console allows games owned by the Nintendo Account to be launched without being connected online while all secondary consoles must be actively connected online to verify that that the game is owned by that account. As the games were bought by a previous owner, I wonder would they stop working as the switch would want to go online and find out if it was a primary or secondary console etc etc, the account the games were associated with was left on the switch but the password was changed, so I wonder if 6.0 would just play the games as is or if check if primary/secondary would stop them working till after it knew. hopefully I explained that a little better if you understand me?
