I have a 64 gb sd card for my switch, but when I formatted the card on my switch, the size capped to 28.7 gb. I can reformat the sd card back to 64 gb, but if I want to use it on my cfw switch I have to format it on the switch itself.
Is there another way I can use my sd card with full capacity on my switch without it being capped?

shouldn't be the case, did you have the card partitioned previously? formatting on the PC should still work fine when connected to the switch as long as you format to fat32 or exfat (although fat32 is recommended)

go into disk manager and see if you have any other partitions setup on the card

also just make sure in data management on the console that your not confusing the built in system memory free space for the SD card free space

No other partitions were on the sd card. When I boot into rcm and select tegra explorer, I have to go to sd format and select format to emummc setup. When I put my sd card back into my pc, the storage will be showed capped.

that's your problem, emunand takes up 32gb of storage on your sd card to create a virtual system memory in a hidden partition
