Hacking Homebrew Switch Buttons?

I heard that the Chinese PSP's have the X and O's fuctions switched, so can I take the PSP apart and switch the buttons around?

I'm pretty sure you can swap the buttons using Dark Alex's custom firmware... I think.

I have a Japanese PSP and prefer the O = Accept, X = Back thing, besides in game the buttons are all mapped normally anyways so if you're playing a US game X will still be Accept.

edit: I also think dark alex's firmware can do it as darkforce mentioned, you boot into the firmware setup and its listed there.

can you put custom firmware on a new blue psp from China?

in the recovery menu of D_A's custom FW, (holdR, while cold booting to get there), if you go to registry hacks, you can switch the X and O around.


as for Vapourstreak's Q. what firmware is you PSP?

sry. iuno yet. im hoping to find out wut firmware it is before buying it, but i guess i can. well, ill tell you sumwhere near the middle of jly when I get one.

I'm the same, I've left mine as is, I prefer it to X=accept now.
