Would this exploit essentially allow 4.1 users to boot directly into homebrew without a tether?
Yup, this was why ReSwitched and others were telling us not to update past 4.1.

Get the tape!
I'm sorry but it isn't. Adventure Tape enters the scene. There's only one tape that can do the job...FLEXTAPE!
Only if you have 5 or less fuses burnt. Otherwise, you would have to use the current bootrom exploit anyways to load your 4.1 NAND dump.I'm in 5.1. Can I use a NANDDUMP that I have in 4.1 without panicking and taking advantage of this exploit?
Which one is that "current bootrom exploit anyways"?Only if you have 5 or less fuses burnt. Otherwise, you would have to use the current bootrom exploit anyways to load your 4.1 NAND dump.
Fussy JellyWhich one is that "current bootrom exploit anyways"?
Nope, on Switch is pretty much impossible. You know, I hope there is a possibility for save data exploits... just saying.
This has been well tested and it's not posible with the current implementation of security on the switch console from day 1 release. As it stand even currently modding save files for game like xenoblade corrupts the save almost entirely with new dlc so don't don't hold your breath on it.You know, I hope there is a possibility for save data exploits... just saying.
Might be possible once basic interpreters like fuze and smilebasic show up.This has been well tested and it's not posible with the current implementation of security on the switch console from day 1 release.
