I have a lot of doubts that we're going to see emulation anytime soon.

To even emulate anything at all, you need a DECRYPTED ROM of a title. And to decrypt a ROM, you need title keys. And to get title keys, you need to extract them from a console. And to extract them, an exploit needs to be available.

And development of an emulator takes a lot of work. It took multiple years for Switch emulators to get at decent levels of compatibility, and this is considering that we cracked the console open with the Fuseé-Geleé RCM exploit fairly early in its lifecycle.

Though I'd like to note that I don't know much about the hardware of the Switch 2, there could be a small possibility of title keys being extracted via desoldering some sort of chip in the console.

another factor is switch 2 hardware now is not so potato like the switch 1. it even stronger than the ps4 and ps4 emulator playable right now is so rare. some steam deck delusional user think they can emulate switch 2 game on steam deck just like the switch 1 :)

The Switch 2 isn't that powerful. The CPU is weak compared to most PC's, and the GPU is weak enough that any desktop RTX graphics card could do it. Steam Deck isn't going to cut it. For there to be any attempt to emulate the Switch 2, we need someone to properly exploit the Switch 2 hardware. From there, we can decrypt rom data and then someone can finally work on a emulator. Yuzu and Ryujinx can work as a basis to get emulation started.

By the time that happens, hardware will be more than powerful. It’s already good enough today

As if you're one to talk about it. Surprised you're not hiding behind emojis, little bro. 🤣
It is absolutely hilarious that you didn't get my intentional use of a double negative.🫣 That is beyond embarrassing on your part, junior. 🤣

There is no PS4 emulator. It's a translation layer, made possible by the fact that both the PS4 (and PS5/Pro) and the Xbox One (and Series X/S) are just AMD PCs with a few proprietary parts. Since the AMD CPU and GPU are so closely related to the PC's native hardware, it is not necessary to emulate all of that. The Switch 2 would be FAR more difficult to emulate at speed than a PS5 would be for exactly this reason. Note that I worked in the 90s for the leading software emulator company on planet Earth and that you would be foolish to try to suggest I'm wrong about anything I've said above. I've got over 40 years experience with this.

But you are right. No current SteamDeck will EVER be able to run Switch 2 games at anywhere near acceptable framerates. The 3 year old SteamDeck is not powerful enough to even run the very latest PC games (such as Indiana Jones), much less an emulator for a console that has a GPU that is essentially a RTX 2050.

I didn't care to as you're always on some funny meds. 🤣

Be careful with that, there's one thing called dynarec ( dynamic recompilation ). Steam Deck... well, realistically not, but some other handheld PC or Steam Deck 2... recompiling instructions to another CPU platform is something that makes things way more doable on that regard...

I hope there will be a switch 2 Emulator because i wannna play fire Emblem fortunes weave but i dont want to buy a switch 2 , Nintendo just gone down hill i wont suport that.
and i will buy a steam deck or get a new pc

This feels like a pretty selfish take. Folks can have their opinions about something, but seriously, in order for Nintendo to make games like Fire Emblem, they need support, so by you not wanting to support them but want them to keep making these kind of games for you to play is basically saying everyone else should support them (as well as do all the hard work of emulation) so you can play them for free.

emulating the Switch 2?
it will probably take a while.

So, as you've already heard, the Xbox One, a console that was considered unhackable at the time, has been unlocked after 13 years

That gives me a little hope, after all, it’s a Microsoft console, and they don’t mess around when it comes to security, and even so they did it

the question now remains: It was the Xbox One's turn, when will it be the Switch 2's turn?

what do you think?
The Switch 2 has a dual core lockstep (DCLS) precisely to avoid voltage exploits like the Xbox One one.

but they still succeeded with the Xbox One, If they managed to do it with the Xbox One, why couldn't they do it with the Switch 2

at least this gives me a little hope that we'll see a Switch 2 unlock soon

Xbox One doesn't have a dual core lockstep.

ok bro, but still, no console is really unhackable and we have the proof
Switch 2 will also come, and it will probably be via software, since hardware is difficult to come by at the moment

I really hope that with the technology we have now and with the help and assistance of AI, it won't be too long

Xbox One took 13 years, Xbox360 took 20

What's your ETA for Switch 2, the most secure console we have at hands at the moment?
