Hardware Swapping USB drive

What happens if I detach the USB HDD1 where I have currently installed games and attach another HDD2 instead? For sure I'll have to format it, that's clear.

If after that I detach HDD2 and reattach HDD1 will I be able to play games already installed on it?
If I install a game I already have on HDD1 on HDD2 too (I'l like to test loading speed to evaluate moving all data to HDD2 if faster) will it work or is it bounded to one HDD in some way?

AFAIK you can connect as much HDDs as you want

When moving games from one to another there are two options: move and copy

Since there is a copy option you should be able to copy from one to the other then use whichever to play. If you couldn't then that option would be utterly pointless.
