Hardware Swapping Disc Drives?

Okay, so tomorrow I plan on switching me and my buddy's disc drives so that we can get my V4C clip/WiiKey2 up and running. (Of course, I'm giving him some moola in return

So, all I should have to do is disconnect the drives via the ribbon and cable, then just swap the drives, right? There's no different connections between drive types or anything? I'm pretty sure there isn't, but it's better to be safe than sorry I suppose.

Any Wii dvd drive can be placed into any Wii.

But if there is a chip on that dvd drive, you have to make sure it is flashed to the same region as the Wii console otherwise you will have problems.
 
Mkay, the drives were swapped successfully, but something's still wrong with the clip. Unless I twist it a certain way (even though it STILL doesn't work), I just get dumped with a red LED. >_<

I'm starting to get a bit ticked.
