Swap DVD drive on RGH console

I have a RGH Slim 360 and I’ve just been given a slim (same model, same drive) with a flashed DVD drive.

I want to put the flashed DVD drive into my RGH console to have the ultimate hacked console, the question I have is how to I change the DVD key on the new drive?

With phat consoles, had to connect disc drive to PC mobo i/o, probe (RGH can extract dvd keys), extract keys, and flash using jungle flasher... not sure if same or newer developed software.

It won't read the backup discs I have, it runs retail so I know the drive is fine and I know the backups are fine because they run on the flashed console...

I did and was told I need to swap the keys, this one is about how do I swap the keys

I just tried 3 games that are not on the hard drive from dual layer disk (verbatin) and played (google translate).

Yeah, fair enough, it seems a bit tedious to have to burn discs as opposed to just copying them to the hard drive, each to their own I guess

Yeah, fair enough, it seems a bit tedious to have to burn discs as opposed to just copying them to the hard drive, each to their own I guess

A friend just gave me about 100 games on discs, so I’d like to play them without copying via my PC

You can't. Keys are tied to the drive that was installed with the console. You need to take out the PCB from the drive and place it into the new drive that has the same model number you're going to install.

There was an experimental plugin being developed that allowed you to play backups from an unmodified dvd drive but don't think it was ever finished. If you look around you might be able to find a copy somewhere. It's called NETISO. I've tried it in the past and it worked fairly well.
