hi guys i need help.
i have a problem updating my supercard mini sd to ver 1.7im not sure what firmware that's currently installed in my supercard. ive downloaded firmware 1.63b and tried updating it with that. it says data verify error pls turn off GBA. i suspect that im missing a firmware update after 1.63B or before that. But i have to be sure. Could someone help me how to perform firmware check on the supercard?
i remember there is button command to do this but i have no idea what it is.

also if someone could provide history of supercard firmware version for SD version, that would be nice as well.
Thank you

If I remember Correctly, i belive its L + R. You hold it while turning it on

check supercard homepage, if you have genuine SC miniSD

http://eng.supercard.cn

even a version history is there!

Update(2006.08.04):SuperCard SD & MiniSD version New firmware V1.63b Released

http://eng.supercard.cn/manual/faq.htm

Q: Firmware 1.44 cannot be upgraded directly to the newest 1.63 version. How to do it?
A: It seems that you have to upgrade every firmware step by step (1.44 -> 1.5 -> 1.6 ->1.63)

Q: How to enter SELF TEST MODE?
A: Hold L+R and turn on the power. Press A to test every part of SuperCard. If there is a "error" display that your SuperCard broken.

hi guys.
i tried checking the firmware. everything was checked alright. the firmware on SC says 1.63
but i keep getting data verify error message when i tried to update the SC firmware. and the supercard actually didnt detect the firmware file automatically.
From what i could remember. i updated my supercard using firmware 1.63A. the one that has problems with some supercard mini sd boards. so now i have no idea what i should do. plsssssss help....

check the crc32 of your update-file
V1.70 for Supercard miniSD (no rumble!): sd_170.bin = A7450B20
V1.63A for Supercard miniSD (no rumble!): sd_163.bin = 1FEBD834

if your CRC is different, than

(re)download
e.g. V1.70 @ http://eng.supercard.cn/download/setupsdV258en.rar

format your mini-SD flashcard

copy "sd_170.bin" to the root of your fresh formated miniSD

connect your DS to its powersupply

run "sd_170.bin" as an normal .gba game

okay. it turned out that the first time i copied the firmware file into mini sd, it was a bad file. sO i deleted and copied the firmware again and it worked. Now i have to patch the NDS game all over again...sigh.
thanks for all ur help mates

cheers

actually, you shouldn't have to patch your games all over if it was a supercard firmware issue

nah it was my mistake again i think. It worked by switching the MK4-key to GBA mode.

so it's all cool. But my supercard is kinda weird. My GBA games got corrupted all of a sudden before i updated the firmware. (1.63) I was thinking of getting M3 or G6 lite ....but ill have to look around.
