About the uncensored problem...

I think there was some issue with editting the textures but maybe i'll be possible now. It's been like 1/2 a year.
I'm waiting for Citra before I do anything that requires constantly changing and testing stuff. Haven't touched my 3DS basically since this thread.

hey I'm not related to this project .A. I just offered myself to help with graphics ... I don't even know all the katakana :x
 
i wish that someone (who knows japanese and can hacking) continues this project. i am a very huge Super Sonico Fan and i want to play this badly....but cant read japanese.. and cant hack....otherwise i would do it by myself.
 
Is anyone still here and interested? I would definitely be willing to help with a project like this. I've been digging through the files on my own time. Exploring the textures is curious and fun, but I really need to figure out how to translate (I don't know much Japanese, but I'll do what I can) and replace text. When I open them in WordPad, they look like the attached image. Sorry if I'm a total newb about this, but I really do want to make this translation a reality.

Edit: @Sliter I could totally tell you what a lot of graphics need to be changed to, I can read katakana decently. (for the uninformed, a small language lesson: Katakana is usually used for "foreign" words, and are usually just deconstructed English words. Like, "ハード" or "haa-do" means "Hard".)

i am interested but i cant read japanese and i dont have knowledge about game hacking. i would still like to help (maybe as beta tester or smthng like that)

They look like that with Notepad as well but using Notepad++ it seems to show the text correctly, seems like an odd format, I only grabbed the "00mainN010.txt" from the LayeredFS zip file so no idea if other files are similar, guessing they are.

Notepad++ seems to suggest its Shift-JIS which I'm guessing standard Notepad/Wordpad don't support, odd for a game to just have its text in a text file, I'm use to looking through a HEX Editor :P

Luma doesn't take anything special, make sure in Luma settings you have Game patching enabled then its just a matter of placing files in "luma/titles/00040000000FA600/romfs" the romfs on SD replicates the same structure as the romfs folder you extract from the CIA.

So "00mainN010.txt" would have the following path on the SD card "luma/titles/00040000000FA600/romfs/script/main/00mainN010.txt"
 
So, judging by this screenshot of my files, I would just drop the corresponding script file into the directory in the luma folder, and it should load up when I play the game with game patching enabled? Hoo boy, I'm excited already.

A lot of the content on that screenshot can be ignored, because the only folders that really need editing are the "script" and various "ui" folders. Not sure if "live", "lyrics", and "mail" need changing, but I'm going to assume yes. Is there anyone else reading this who has their own extracted version of the romfs?
