It's not really a hacking thread and it's not a tutorial either, more like a tutorial request so I hope I'm posting in the right section.
Hi, I'm very new (something like 24h in) to all this but to make it clear, I have GodMod9, luma, CFW,... all the stuff on my console. I own a physical cartridge of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and what I would like to do is simply to play the vanilla game (like I already was before installing all this) BUT I'd like to save my current progress. It sounds stupid I know but for those who never played the game, every time I launch it it requires me to install a newer version. As you may know the official server are down so it won't work that way, plus while looking around for a valuable patch I've found out that the most recent one (1.1.7) would actually break the game (rendering it unplayable). So I'm looking for a 1.1.6 patch but all I can find are patch notes. Anybody would be kind enough to point me toward it ?
Do I need something more specific to install ? Do I have to dump my own game to patch it ? If so, I'm not sure how to do it but I should be able to find that out.

Just to make it extra unambiguous, I am just looking to play the vanilla game like it should have work from the start: with save option. Can't believe how hard is it to do it.

Tl;dr: Where in the world is 1.1.6 patch for SSB 3DS ?

Internet Archive has all regions and all update versions - the key term to search for is the file format for 3DS games, which is CIA. You should be able to install the CIA file using FBI.
If you're worried about it becoming unplayable, I would recommend taking a save backup using Checkpoint beforehand.
If you have a save backed up, it should be safe to delete the update data using the official system data management, which is one possible fix for corrupted games.
