Gaming Super-n00b question

Looking at release lists online, it seems that many titles out there have multiple regions on the same ROM... like "Yoshi Touch & Go (U)(E)(J)". I know the DS is region-free but why would the same file be tagged as all three regions? Shouldnt it be marked as being from one region in particular where the file came from?

Are you sure its not a Zip file containing all three? Some times they are archived that way.

i suppose it may be. theyre compressed as 7z, and again im only going by what the list says. that does make a lot of sense tho, ill try to find out for sure myself. thanks for the reply

You're looking at a rom set, not a release list.

Some times it is shown that way. When you download it it is different. Also destructobot is right. It's a rom set.

Ive seen it in a couple of release. Sometimes if the roms have been merged together for ease of download.

It *could* mean that the exact same ROM was used in all regions. For example, it's very common to see (JUE) on 16-bit era ROMs as the game was identical in all regions.


tho, that's probably not the case here but... who knows
