Gaming Super-n00b question

Looking at release lists online, it seems that many titles out there have multiple regions on the same ROM... like "Yoshi Touch & Go (U)(E)(J)". I know the DS is region-free but why would the same file be tagged as all three regions? Shouldnt it be marked as being from one region in particular where the file came from?

TIA, sorry if this is ridiculously basic...

i suppose it may be. theyre compressed as 7z, and again im only going by what the list says. that does make a lot of sense tho, ill try to find out for sure myself. thanks for the reply

It *could* mean that the exact same ROM was used in all regions. For example, it's very common to see (JUE) on 16-bit era ROMs as the game was identical in all regions.


tho, that's probably not the case here but... who knows
