I don't believe it's real either. I'll be gone for the weekend, so i'll check up on it on monday. If the internet hasn't had a meltdown by then i guess it's a fake

The Cyclowiz uses the same pins to play backup games as other modchips, right?
Then I guess that all other chips will be detected too. So don't get your hope up to much.

This has been confirmed by 1 guy who uses excuse after excuse to not upload the ISO.

Quick someone call Sherlock, there's something a foot !!!

So had ninty put a spanner in the works? as soona s I saw the Cyclowiz screen shot (error mod hardware detected) I knew it wasn't going to work on nay mod chip

though I sure a fix will be made, not that I care as I'll buying it anyway, and I getting metroid3 today, that'll keep me busy for a while.

Still got lot sof games to finish in the mean time.

Hi everybody!

This is my first because I usually just read new releases etc.
But this topic has ticked me really off because people just
throw with assumptions and speculation around without a single thought.

There are just some things I want to mention:

1. Quit posting "it's fake/it's not fake". Nobody really knows
without reliable proof or more time to be sure it is fake.
It is just irritating and totatly useless without any proof...

2. Why should Nintendo really want to detect modchips?
They made it really easy in the first place to circumvent
the protection in making sure to keep almost all vulnerabilities
which were used for gamecube modchips.

3. IF they really want to fight modded Wiis then there are some
methods which could do that at least when a backup is inserted.
e.g. http://www.wiili.org/index.php/Drivechip#Drivechip_Detection
If this would really work is still argueable but it is plausible possibility
which would obviously work for ALL current modchips.
(The d2ckey might be the exception that proofs the rule...)

4. The picture of the error code is no proof whatsoever.
Give me 15 minutes and I display every error message you want
on my tv screen. Just photoshop a nice image and connect your pc to
your television or even burn the image to a cd-r and display it using
almost all current dvd players...
Give me a day and I might even be able to capture the normal Wii
menu, cut a small "intro video" for Mario Galaxy from some game demos,
compile it into the original wii video, display it again on the tv and capture it
using a camcorder...
This is just a little warning that you can never be sure wether
unconfirmed information on the internet is true or not.

Finally I don't really know if it is fake or not either.
Just wait...

I just think Jaw (the man who ripped the game) didnt rip it proberly.
I think we will see a working SMG in a few hours.

There is no difference between retail and demo Wii.

I don't think its a question of purchasing the game because you want to support Nintendo, I think most of us are hounding this thread because we like to know that we can find a way around everything Nintendo (or any other company for the sake of my point) throws at us.

I know I am...with ulterior motives (Circumventing stuff is fun).

I for one hope its fake. I don't want to have to open up my wii again, de-solder the quick soldering job I did on my Wiikey then re-solder it with a switch....Or wait for a PAL release either.

Also, because you can play the original fine, but not the backup, wouldn't that suggest that the Wii is detecting the different disc and not the modchip itself? Just a thought.

I don't know if this has been said already... haven't had a chance to read the whole thread... but the demo disc isn't a demo disc. It's the full game. Nintendo doesn't send out demo discs to Gamestop they send out full versions for their demo units.

I can verify (having played a good 1/3rd of the game) that it is not in fact a demo disc but the full game.

i agree that most people yust are making up random things without real proof or yust because they read something on some crappy forum they believe instandly.

still that galaxy could be copy protected could be true i remember in the good old day of my copy box for the snes that all the triple aaa first party games where copy protected and only could be played if they where patched by hacking groups.
so a copy protected galaxy wouldnt be a suprise for me.

lets yust all wait and see , i gonna buy the original version anyway of this game because games like this should be supported

The only fact we know for sure, its that all gamespot receive a "demo" game.

Everything starts from there. You can create any rumors with that.

how can you be playing the game if it doesn't work with a certain modchip (cyclowiz) unless you have a diffrent modchip? and i also heard that the torrent that was uploaded was deleted so no one can get the game now.
