Metroid gave some error if you BrickBlock'ed it. They said the first upload he did was BrickBlocked. It's probably a similar error where you need to apply the update to play the game.

It must be because it's a kiosk game. I'll have to make a new brickblocker program. One that will work even on the sun.

Got some bad news for you guys, dont think we will see a release just yet. Slow upload to the people who is releasing it, it will take about 19 hours before its complete. So dont hold your breath

However, who knows, maybe some scene release group will give it out before that?

I don't believe that it will be released anytime soon. You might as well wait for a scene release.

The issue is, according to you, that the wii can now detect if the game is an original or copy.
I have tested it on 2 wiis

I would appreciate if you could do some further tests by converting the iso to JAP or PAL and trying the game.

People are getting restless at that site, it almost as if they want to start a lynching mob. The people at the site feels like they were lied to and led on. I think that he tried, but he didn't test it enough before posting the game at the site.

So from what I gather. Using brickblocker on the Mario Galaxy ISO results in a black screen. Not using brickblocker results in the Wii trying to update but an error message comes up saying that a modchip was detected.

The original game works perfectly fine though (great to know).


I wonder, does the error on the update mario galaxy tries to run occur at the very start of the update or at the end? If it were at the end we could try the Metroid Prime 3 method of unplugging the Wii at around 10% then running the brickblocked version.

I'm relieved to know that even though Nintendo can seemingly now detect modchips they aren't bricking our consoles or making us have to remove the modchip, but rather some burnt games will just not work. Originals will run just fine. So if there is a problem game like Galaxy we can still buy a legit copy and run it on a modded Wii.
