Wasnt' Super Mario World SMB4 in Japan? or codenamed as such? If so, yes... I've already bought it. well... it was included in the my copy of Super Mario All Stars + World, but I think that still counts... Not gonna vote though, since it's a topic of "will buy" and not "did buy." Sorry! peace.

Would I buy it, yes.

What do I THINK it would most resemble? SMB3.

Which one would I most like to see a sequel to? SMB2. Its about time Mario makes a return trip to SubCon.

Warrior @ Now I would buy SMW over SMB3.

Fixed, although I never actually beat SMB3...

Sorry but no. SMB3 is just better than World. Better multiplayer, more difficult, more misterious (Sledgehammer doesn't appear in instructions manual!). Many fans of Mario were disappointed with World because it was the most easy Mario ever made and don't move console sales like Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 3 is a game that make millions of people buy a 8-bit system in 16-bits era.

I would just pirate it, yar.
And I prefer the original SMB style for its simplicity, but I doubt a game like that could sell in today's gaming industry.

Isn't Super Mario World called Super Mario 4 in Japan? Or at least thats one of the names its known by? I'm almost positive it is.

in fact:

also watch this old ad for Mario World on the Super Famicom, look at the yoshi above the Super Mario World logo, its definitely got the number 4 over it. Mario World is Super Mario Bros. 4, it just a part of the name that didn't carry over internationally
