Update coming soon! :)

@whitezombie can you fix the other chat window textures too?
Here are the 7 chat window texture files in the Chat_Windows.zip file that you can collect from the Window Sets during gameplay. However, I don't have the time currently to do the 7 sub menu files, 132c7efcee65276d-bcce8e225ee902a3-00005d93.dds (Window Set 2 Sub Menu), 4bf26ae7edc78e2a-63cee9b23d9d3d7c-00005d93.dds (Window Set 3 Sub Menu), 803cc3fd90b15608-96d95980aaf8ceb1-00005d93.dds (Window Set 4 Sub Menu), 75941fac27ae4173-6aa68617ce80f3e6-00005d93.dds (Window Set 5 Sub Menu), e1fb5c98a39a634a-35949723a1242369-00005d93.dds (Window Set 6 Sub Menu), 203065f0e3c7fb70-f275d9130839de4c-00005d93.dds (Window Set 7 Sub Menu), and 33bf4492f461e8b5-c281744c25c302db-00005d93.dds (Window Set 8 Sub Menu).

Doing the default sub menu file e740a895959158ed-fbdacd8e8e33a876-00005d93.dds was a pain, I did it during my downtime at work over the winter, because work is slow during that time. If someone else wants to tackle the other 7 Window Set sub menu files I was using paint.net to edit the .dds file, saving it as BC7 (Linear, DX 11+) under settings, and left the compression to default at medium. I would draw red lines on the boxes to figure out where each texture would load. I would then have to cut a pixel row, or add a pixel row to get clean borders, re-color the inside of the boxes to get clean and uniform colors, some of the bigger boxes would be easy to find, but some areas have tiny sections taken from the texture file. Getting these small areas was the hardest part, re-coloring pixels, cropping the small area, or adding a row of pixels to get clean borders. The game can use multiple sections from the texture file to make a full box on screen. I should have made a map!

Also, this is how I fixed the chat windows shown in the last two attached pictures. I would open the upscaled .dds file in .net paint, from the menu I clicked Image, Resize, I put in 1024 in the Width box, the rest auto filled to make the file 1024x2048, and clicked OK to resize the image. I would then zoom in, cut a row or two from the top and left white box, save the file, and reload to texture to make sure the white lines didn't appear in game when there was talking happening on screen. That white box is somehow responsible for the color inside the chat box too, so I had to make that white box uniform as well, as there were slight discolorations that were probably caused by the upscaling.

Edit: I made a small change to the chat window files to make the color uniform inside the chat box. I noticed some chat boxes had slight discolorations. So if you downloaded the file yesterday, grab the Chat_Windows.zip file again. Enjoy everyone!

Hi everyone, I decided to do the sub menus the best that I could! Please use the Suikoden_V_Edited_Files_Final.zip file as it contains all the files from the previous posts. Now you can use any Window Set in the game without having to even collect them. Just rename them to the default Window Set file names. You can even mix the chat boxes with other sub menus! The files should be used with 1080p resolution or less. If you go any higher then the textures will break down and get lines.

Hey, I’m sorry if this question has been asked a hundred times but are all the texture packs not compatible with Steam Deck?? I’ve been trying to get the DQ8 and Suikoden V HD packs to work for weeks now and I can’t figure it out.
For some reason the texture pack for this only works correctly on Steam Deckwhen using OpenGL instead of Vulkan, but that was quite many months ago, not sure if it still applies (after the latest steamOS and pcsx2 updates) as I don't have my deck with me recently

Would the game look worse at 4K with your files than without?

tried this texture pack on steam deck, work just fine. did you put the folder in the correct location? if you extract the files from media fire, the folder would be SLUSXXXX-SUIKODEN V something something.. inside that folder is the 'SLUS' folder that you need to put inside the texture folder

edit1 : there are 2 files that i dont know where to put from the edited files. these two are 521701ab25192c98-a0a7f68ece07c7ba-00005e13 and f8e4cbf203a6e6-19b8d05523fa6b19-00006213

edit2: still dont know where to put them but the white line in dialog box disappear (only test a bit , the scene where the party arrived at sol falena the first time)

I think those two files were not dumped in the V2.0 pack that was previously uploaded. So file 521701ab25192c98-a0a7f68ece07c7ba-00005e13 was from the fishing mini game and f8e4cbf203a6e6-19b8d05523fa6b19-00006213 is the backdrop\wallpaper when Oboro does an investigation on a character. It had a big white line going down the middle which I cleaned up. You can drop the files any where in the base folder or put them in one of the nested folders. In the V3.0 pack those two new files are in the UI folder. Sorry for the late reply!

Hi, what are the best graphics configurations 16.9?
Is it possible to convert them for EU version?

Just verified his upload of the pack myself and scanned it. There was no viruses found so that isn't true.

Wanted to thank you for your work and am enjoying the texture pack. However, I was not satisfied with the upscaled fonts and ended up replacing them with ones I made myself from scratch. I thought others might also appreciate the update and wanted to provide the files here as well. I haven't fully played through the entire game, but it looked fine from my limited testing. Keep up the good work!1778698435355.png1778698557255.png
