Gaming Suikoden total gameplay?

How long can i expect this game to last?
Im at 10 hours now, just up to the part where liu reveals who he is.

I beat the game in 23 hours, but I only finished with 56 characters

Finished the game with 50 something characters in about 15-16 hours, now i have to replay cuz' I saved in the final battle at cynas over my other one..WARNING: don't do this if u still have to do other stuff...this is my one complaint about suikoden, at least let us make a new game + or something....

Finished it with 108 characters, 46 hours. All quests done exept two and every chest opened ^^

Finished my first playthrough in around 40 hours with ~75 SoD but I didn't use any walkthroughs/guides/FAQs.

well. they do have the faqs to get all characters though

Come on! There is a "best" ending in the game! Gather all the 108 characters to get it!!!

And make sure noone dies forever (if its even possible in this title. It is however in the other games)

Right now I am playing through again. I have played 34 hours, I just passed the part where the Magedom got destroyed and you recruit Diadora, I have recruited 85 SoD, and everyone is at least at level 40 with all the best gear. It took a lot of trading to get all those weapons and armor.

The reason you miss SoDs could be because of you not doing any side quests at all. Some SoDs can only be obtained through side quests.

I'm 42 hours in.
Recruited around 80+ Starbearers each with a minimum level of 40.
(pretty much same as abbadon)

You can finish the game in 5 more hours.

But without 'total' gameplay.

And also, if you want 'total' gameplay, be sure you have both the JP and EU (or US) rom.
So that you can undub or place translation to the JP rom which has BATTLE sfx.

They are the different ways the weapons deal out damage I think. The slashing you slash people with swords, piercing you stab them in single points with a weapon, club you bash them with clubs like the gold mace. Which is all reliant on the weapon(s) wielded. I think this is what the Slash, Piercing, and ... club refers to.
